If this 6-2 lead holds and the Mets fall, they're 2.5 up with five to play. Let's go Phils!
Nice work tonight, again. they're playing their best ball of the year at the best possible time.

Magic number would be 4. The mets are ready to fold so it's possible we could wrap this up and cruise against the Nats.

would be nice to give that overworked bullpen -- particularly Durbin and Lidge -- some time off before the playoffs.

I can understand where you might want to see the closer but I would just as soon see it over as soon as possible. You just never know what can happen.
I'm also feeling the celebrations coming but caution myself that they still need to get the #4 combo

I'm hoping somehow they clinch when I go tomorrow!
I hope we have this thing locked up by Friday Night. I would then call up every pitcher who is on the 40 man roster and still available to pick. Start Eaton Saturday and Kendrick Sunday and let the other scrubs pitch this weekend. Golson would play, Marson behind the plate, Tad at 2nd, Brunlett at short. I would start Stairs at first base. In other words rest every single regular I could

Hey, if things break correctly, we could have this locked up by Wed night!
