I am watching the Cubs game and saw him literally golf one out about 20 rows up in left-center field. When it left the bat I honestly thought it was a shallow pop up.

What are your feelings on his pending free agency - Do you want him? and if you don't what concerns you?
- His attitude?
- Age?
- Production decline?

I think he has about 4 good years left in him. I would love to make a run at him, but with his salary command, then paying howard / hamels / and annual increases, I don't think we'll have enough to sure up the pitching.

At the same time, if theres no pitcher available, do you get the best hitter and fill in the rotation with happ etc.

Manny is amazing, especially in the postseason.

The only problem with him is the price. I'm not sure the Phillies can open up the wallets for him.

Let's see, umm...Rollins, Utley and then Manny, Howard or Howard, Manny. They'd probably have 90 HRs, 300 RBIs, and 250 walks between the 2 of them. That is, if Manny felt like playing.

But as Bush One used to say, "Not gonna happen!".

I would rather they sign Sabathia but I wouldn't turn my nose up at him.

We don't have enough money to get Sabathia away from California. The Yankees might. I think he'll end up in LA next year unless the Dodgers lowball him.

Speaking of which, I can't believe we got to him tonight. I guess you can only go so many starts with 3 days rest.

Really? you would rather have Sabathia? - his recent run(albeit great, but how taxing in the future), the beginning of this year in Cle and his weight concerns me over the long haul

wow. Manny just hit another dinger.

He did - he is going to clean up this offseason and it makes me hate Boras even more. Did you hear his quote, something to the effect of "all i want to do is play baseball and go home" - if thats the case, he better stay in LA, I will be dissappointed (not shocked) if he takes the highest bidder for either NY team.
