wow. I was really worried tonight but the Fightin's come through!

And Lidge made it fairly easy too.

Yeah, they did what they are good at and acted like they have been here before. No deer in the headlights this year.

Couple of loooooong outs there in the 9th for Lidge. Thank God they were both to center! Great Game!

Question: What is more valuable to a 25 man roster in the Play Offs...So Taguchi or a warm pile of shit?
Answer: A warm pile of shit, because it would only stink up the dug out...not the entire stadium.

Serious question: Has there EVER, in baseball's long history, been a more totally useless POS than So Taguchi at this
point in his 'career'?

Come on tino! WE need positivity in this forum. With the Eagles being so terrible, I'm so glad we have the Phillies to be proud of.

But, yes, So is fairly useless.

Cole pithed a gem, once he settled in, against a strong lineup. Let's hope Myers can do the same, get the jitters out of the way early and pitch effectively.
Utley and Burrel won their game now Rollins and Howard need to step up and get a win. Then Werth and Feliz and presto the boys are up 3 games to none.

With the lucky breaks that have gone to centerfield this year, I'm starting to wonder if this could be their .... nah!

I don't think anyone has confidence in Jamie Moyer anymore.

If he starts game 7, we are in huge trouble. The hitters will be pressing from the get go because they need to make up for the inevitable 5 runs he'll give up in his 4 innnings of work.

We better win this next one with Blanton and then Hamels can close it out.

Moyer has given them a good year and better numbers than could be expected from a 45 year old. But the playoffs are different. LA has a good team and I don't think any of them have any fear of batting against him. On the other hand, if he gets some early calls on edge pitches he likes to throw he can do OK, even in the playoffs.
But I also would very much like to see Blanton and Hamels close it out.

He was getting the calls last night and still got blown up.

If they can win 2 of the next 3, I'm totally fine with that. But I'll be a wreck if it goes 7.

Blanton needs to keep Furcal and Ethier off the bases, cause Manny owns him.

Maybe. Not sure he was there long enough to say that though. Against Kemp in particular the first three pitches he was nipping around and they were called balls. Almost every other batter jumped on him early. You may be right and he got all the calls he should have. All I would say is that he needs to get those edge calls in order to be the least bit effective.

Agreed, great win last night. That's why, as mad as I get at this team for all the blown opportunities, I can't go to bed early. This team comes up big late very often.
