  • Jason Peters plans to play this coming season

He seems strongly motivated to return to the field. Will he renegotiate his big contract, good through 2019, to make his return 'with the Eagles' financially workable?

I'd like to see them work that out.

I just read Sproles said he is leaning towards playing next season.

If he can play G at a high level, it would be awesome. At this point I don't know if he is a better T than Vaitai
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

and I would love to see it. Either Clement or Ajayi in the backfield with Sproles would make for a tough combo and Clement and Sproles would be great on blitz pickup. IMO Sproles is what this years team is missing on offense. A full season of Sproles with the rest of this offense would be sick

Who does he replace at guard? Brooks and Wiznewksi have been pretty damn good and are cheaper than Jason.

At some point, we have to move on from the older players, Sproles, Peters and Celek. Its not just about younger players its about the cap. Sproles is a FA, Peters they could save up to 8 million by letting him go, and Celek another 4 million. Let Smith Go, Add that to a renegotiation of say Vinny Curry's contract and they should be able to get Bradham under contract and still have 15 million or so to add in other areas, like maybe a better speed receiver or another linebacker or more lineman.

Love all that Jason Peters has done for the Eagles but 37yr old offensive lineman rarely get a chance to come back from ACL surgery. My guess is the same thing will happen to Jason.

It certainly would be tough for Peters to come back from an ACL at 37 years old. I'd like to see him come back and retire as an Eagle. Peters has always been about money though and it's probably impossible to keep him at that salary. If he can play though I'm sure that he would come back at OT and still be better than V.

V has been very solid. Do we return him to the bench to play a 37 year old who probably wants too much money?

Let's worry about the money later--- if we only had a choice to keep one--- I'd go with Sproles(if healthy), he is a DC's game changer.

Yes, he's hands down better than V if they are both on the team-not even close.
