We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

Do we know which 3rd and 5th we gave up for Slay?

That's too bad. Not a hell of a lot of difference in fifth but would've rather seen them give the comp pick in round three.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy

Reuben Frank made a GREAT point today regarding the Slay trade. By trading for him this year we don't negate a potential compensatory pick next year for players like Big V and Jenkins. So in reality we potentially ONLY gave up a 5th round pick for Slay because we likely will get a late third round tender for Big V's signing. The Jenkins and Hargraves signings cancel each other out.

I still don't know if we get a compensatory pick for Jordan Howard.

Ehhh, that tends to be rationalizing your move. I understand what he is saying and am on board with the move but counting on what happens next year doesn't make me jump for joy. It is either a good move or it isn't.
