After spending nine full seasons as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is back to his old role of being an offensive coordinator. This time around though he’s on the New York Giants’ coaching staff.
Dallas underachieved in a major way last season, winning just eight games with a loaded roster. As a result, Jerry Jones finally pulled the plug on Garrett’s time with the franchise.
Less than two weeks after the Cowboys announced that Garrett would not return as their head coach, the Giants swooped in and signed him to be their offensive coordinator under Joe Judge.

When asked why he immediately jumped at the job in New York, Garrett said the opportunity was “too good to pass up,” Chris Rosvoglou of The Spun reports.

Garrett has the chance to get revenge on Dallas twice this upcoming season. He could help build his value on the coaching market and potentially land another head coaching gig in a year or two.
