I read somewhere that he was taken because of his ST potential more than his defensive presence. That leads me to believe he could come in and make the team based on his ST play and eventually work his way to safety. The defensive backfield looks pretty crowded with some talented players. It will be tough for him to crack that I believe.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy

In his post-draft PC, Reid glowed about how this guy was just a gamer. The guy just loves to play football. Fun to watch. He should become a quick fan favorite, even on special teams.

Harris is a guy I have been geeked about since the second we took him. Love the pick, love the character and the heart. IMO, he is guy guy most likely to fill Dawk's place from this draft. Physical, intense, and a terrific character. He is not the crazy talent that gets people all excited, but I think he will bring a lot to the table. They will find a spot for this kid until he grows into a legit NFL playa. Go get em, Macho!

From what I've seen so far, he reminds me of a pre-injury JR Reed.

Macho reminds me a little of Asante, actually, though a little slower.

Asante was the 20th ranked CB going into the draft, ran a 4.51 at the combine. But a born ballhawk with plenty of attitude. That's what I see in Macho, just a little slower.
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!

Assante might not have great 40 speed, but he closes on the ball faster than anyone I've ever seen.

Asante's 40 was a hell of a lot closer to 4.4 then Macho's 4.68. I think Harris has to play safety, he just doesn't have the staight line speed to run with nfl wr's on fly routes. If he plays well, that could very well determine whether or not Sean Jones will be here past '09.

                        Posting from VT country here....

I was very happy to see the Eagles select Harris in when they did. All this guy did while playing for the Hokies was make plays.

I had almost forgotten about this guy...

Steelers signed DB Macho Harris, formerly of the Redskins.

Macho has a great name but not much game. The tweener fizzled out as a starting safety in Philadelphia and struggled as a nickel corner.

I really liked the kid. He got his shot but it just didn't work out. Too bad. He overcame a lot.
