I remember seeing a stat a number of years ago that I wish someone would update each year. It showed that if you took every NFL player on an active roster and put them into buckets based on the round they were drafted, there are more #1 picks on NFL rosters, but the 2nd largest group was UDFA's.

I believe it showed that more #2 and #3 picks were starting, but it still goes to show the importance of UDFA's on your overall roster.

Does anyone have a list of the UDFAs signed by the Birds? Wasn't able to find one this morning. Admittedly, didn't try real hard.

Purdue quarterback Joey Elliott, a 6-foot-2, 216-pound rookie, inked a deal with the Eagles moments after the draft concluded Saturday afternoon, according to the Courier-Press in Evansville, Ill. So, too, did Boilermakers cornerback David Penders, according to the report. The Eagles drafted another Big Ten quarterback on Saturday, selecting Northwestern’s Mike Kafka in the fourth round. The following undrafted rookies also signed free agent deals with the Eagles, according to various accounts: Tennessee-Chattanooga wide receiver Blue Cooper (Chattanoogan), Colgate receiver Pat Simonds (Oneonta (N.Y.) Daily Star), LSU defensive tackle Charles Alexander (The Times-Picayune), West Texas A&M running back Keith Flemming (Amarillo Globe-News), San Jose State wide receiver Kevin Jurovich (San Jose Mercury-News), and Massachusetts fullback Chris Zardas (Boston Globe).

Snead's stock dropped sharply during a mediocre junior year at Ole Miss...disappointing because he was projected as possibly the #1 pick at the beginning of this season. A real fall from grace!

But it is somewhat surprising that nobody thought enough of him to even use a 7th rounder so he wouldn't go on the open UDFA market.

Maybe it was his shitty haircut!
