Eagles Ranked as the #23 TEAM in the entire NFL for 2006. Redskins were ranked #3. It's so blatant and stupid at this point.

That is a good thing, actually. The farther under the radar, the better. I'd rather be the underdog with a chip on the shoulder, for a change.

        Bleh.

I sure hope that the Eagles reference these idiots in December when they go 12-4.

Granted right now I don't think the Birds are the in 'top level' of teams as of right now. (Time will tell on that)... but that is just absurd.

I'm with the majority. I like the underdog role.

I don't claim to know just how good (or Bad) the Eagles will be, but in my heart, in my mind, I "know" that they will be much better than 23rd and if they get a break health wise- they will be among the elite teams in the NFL once again.

IMO, if anybody actually looks at the Eagles last year and can't see that last year was more of an aberration than the norm, then their opinion matters little to me.

I just can't get a "feel" for this season. We've got one of the best QBs in football and a veteran squad, so that sounds good. I just wonder where the playmakers will come from. Damn, anywhere from 6 to 12 wins wouldn't surprise me!

While 23 is absurd, I like being under the radar this year as well.
Unless McNabb goes down for the year, this will be a playoff team.

This offseason, the Eagles beefed up their offensive and defensive lines. The Redskins added some skill-position players. The Redskins-type moves attract attention in June. The Eagles-type moves attract attention in January. I'm ok with that difference.

I'm with the minority then. I'd rather see the Eagles getting all the publicity. It isn't going to change whether we win or lose now that TO is gone. If I turn on the news, be it Sportscenter or whereever, I'd rather see a positive piece about the team than a negative piece.

I don't get the love of being an underdog. Overjoyous if we win ... understanding if we don't? Want to stick it in the face of Salisbury? Really, who cares about Salisbury. We're all in agreement he's wrong with this one.

Ever since I saw that great Eagle team of 48-49, I have been a believer in winning games in the trenches. Growing up on Wistert, Kilroy, Sears, Lindskog, Wojciechowicz, Bednarik et al, I am excited that we again have the potential makings of dominant lines on BOTH sides of the trenches. We've gotten one or the other several times but this could/should be the best I've seen here in more than 50 years. The Talking Heads can eat sh*t when this year gets rolling.

For those of you who don't know that Iggles team of the 40's and who have been spared my earlier rants wherever, the Eagles had a reputation of being the biggest, baddest, toughest SOBs the game had ever seen. Think, Oakland Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, The Skins' "Hogs" and the recent Ravens...the Eagles were even badder! I can't wait for camp and the games!

last year many of these guys had us as a lock to go to the SB. Most of them did so by slamming on the rest of the NFC by saying things like "It's the Eagles and nobody else", etc, etc...

I used to be bothered like SCREAM is

I do get bothered when these so called experts miss facts for why they are dropping us and elevating so many others. However, I am more like Flying Dutchman now. I don't watch much pregame nor do I listen to alot of hot air opinions. All that matters is what happens when the games start.

If we kick ass like many of think we will....these hot air morons will start singing our prasies.

                        so lets go earn it!

ESPN has more tools than Craftsman, I don't jump from the bandwagon and I still believe us to be a top team .Injuries knocked us out of it,health puts us right back in it.Buddy Ryan had more talent on offense in the scab year than we had at the end of the season.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I wish we could make deals with the tools of ESPN. If they are wrong, they cannot jump on our bandwagon and they have to say how stupid they were on every show. If they are right, they can do what they do so well......boast.....about their few correct predictions.

I imagine this is their logic BP. Suppose that you think that the Birds will go 8-8 this year (not beyond the realm). If you go 8-8 in the horsecrap NFC, that makes you about number 23.

I do see the logic, but I also realize that any team with Donovan McNabb at QB can't be listed as Number 23. I don't care how bad the talent is around him.
