  • McCoy, I was wrong

Time for me to admit that I was wrong about the Eagles drafting McCoy.

I thought that Donald Brown would be better, but it certainly seems that LeSean has separated himself from Brown. He seems to be stepping into Westy's role nicely. Too bad he doesn't have "take it to the house" speed, but all in all a good draft pick right there.

Shady has built on his nice rookie year and taken the next step in the process...it has definitely been very fun to watch

I also had Donald Brown rated as the best RB coming out of that draft. McCoy has been a revelation this year.

that said this team needs another RB early in the draft. daniel thomas from k-state would look really nice in green next year as would demarco murray
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

What about Knowshon Moreno? Everyone and their mother had us drafting him in mocks that year. He ended up going higher than expected, #12, and hasn't done much. Seems to always be injured.

I talked up Brown and talked down McCoy,someone serve my plate of crow.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I wouldn't feel bad about liking Brown. The Eagles probably would have taken him too if he was still available. As for Shady, what a difference a year makes. I remember what a stud he was at Pitt, and I was a little disappointed with him last year. I thought he basically did the job and was going to be an average guy in the offense. After all, he had a tough act to follow with Westbrook and even Duce Staley. He came back a new man this year and man it sure shows!

Again, I'll never understand how one could be dissapointed in a rookie who sets a new Eagles rushing record and also catches 40+ passes....

He has definitely taken another step this year, but its not like he was chopped liver as a rook either...you could see the potential and he delivered alot of it on the field
