Making a push for Lord Stanley's Cup. A lot of GMs would stand pat with a league leading team, but to throw a 1st and 3rd on the table for even more skill and talent is pretty freaking outstanding. Versteg didn't fit in Toronto, hope he fits here. Wonder who is getting pushed to the side to make room ?

We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

Versteeg is a great pickup, still a young player, he will fit in with Mike Richards nicely. He was excellent for the Hawks last year in the playoffs. Kills penalties, he's a really good addition.

Versteeg might push Zherdev to the bench, or they might trade Zherdev.

The real question is whether Versteeg's contract makes it even more difficult to get Leino signed.
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!
