You know who hates me? My stomach.

I did the Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin' Challenge yesterday (12 of their hottest wings in 6 minutes) and now the wings are fighting back.

Anyone else here a hot sauce fan?

I used to make chili that I called "Thermonuclear", but since I married someone who thinks black pepper is hot I haven't been making to many things with any real fire to them. Since then my tolerance has dropped significantly. But now you've put me in the mood for wings......

The wings I had weren't even all that hot. The scoville rating was like 400k for that sauce.

I have Dave's Bhut Jolokia hot sauce and it's so damn hot, I can only do a dime size at a time.

My favorite right now is Melinda's Red Savinia one. Just the right amount of heat.

If you haven't been to Suzie's hot sauce store in New Hope, you need to go. You can sample as many different hot sauces as your mouth can stand. They have hundreds of them ranging from mild to sign-the-waiver-and-kiss-your-taste-buds-goodbye.

oh nice. I'll have to make a trip there.

I saw a travel channel thing on a wild game burger place in Kennet Square. Called something Moon? Anyone been there?

If you wanna try hot, grow your own habaneros. The worse you treat them, the hotter they get. No food ,no water, and they get nasty hot. You might not get a great yield, but lots of heat. My wife took our habaneros ,pulsed them 3-4 times in the food processor and mixed them with other veggies and had a hot salsa.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

If you've lived in Thailand, you appreciate hot food. I crave the heat!

I do grow my own! I have so many jars of hot sauce from fresh habaneros I can't eat them all.

I can never get the hot sauce to be as good as the store bought ones though.

You're probably not spitting in it enough.

On a serious note. Does anyone know if 'hot' food has any physically beneficial effects. I used to love hot peppers/sauce. Still like 'hot' but the digestive system takes revenge if I go to extremes.

Again, are there any physical benefits from eating 'hot'?

apparently there's all sorts of beneficial effects from eating hot sauce.

Paradoxically, hot things help the digestive system. You'll have to google that and figure out if you believe it.

One thing that is absolutely true is that hot triggers endorphins in response to the pain. This is why people are so "addicted" to hot sauce. And if you can handle the heat, the citrussy flavors in habaneros are so great.

I did a lot better with the hot sauce when I was younger. Now I like to be able to feel my lips and taste something after 1 or 2 bites.

You and me both Rossovich. The absolute worse thing I did, and I did it twice because I am not that bright, was to agree to be a judge in a chili cookoff. The base I was on had cookoffs every year. I was asked to judge and of course agreed. People from every corner of the US and some foreign countries think they can make chili. A brutal variety-- white, red, green; burning hot to sweet; chicken, steak, hamburg or no meat. Add a swallow or two of beer between every different pot and you can have a hell of a stomach ache.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
                        Hope is not a strategy

I hearya Ross. I can't handle the stuff anymore. The one "hot" stuff I still enjoy now though is a good horseradish. I just had some on some kielbasa and it cleared my sinuses pretty good!
