NFL Linebacker, JMU Star Jordan Arrested
HARRISONBURG - Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Akeem Jordan, a Harrisonburg native and former standout on the James Madison University football team, was arrested in connection with an incident in Harrisonburg early Sunday and charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, according to the Harrisonburg Police Department.
Details of the case are murky and it's not clear where Jordan, 25, was arrested or what specifically led to his arrest. According to an HPD report, the incident occurred in a parking lot on Evelyn Byrd Avenue. He was released on his own recognizance earlier today.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Jordan was born in Harrisonburg on Aug. 17, 1985, and attended Harrisonburg High School and JMU before being signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2007.
Jordan, who has played four seasons in the NFL, all with the Eagles, made just over $1.6 million last year.
