Former Eagles QB McMahon recovering from crash

RENO, Nev. -- Former Eagles quarterback Jim McMahon has been released from a Nevada hospital after he was injured in a crash in a limousine on the way from Lake Tahoe to the airport.

McMahon and girlfriend, Lori Navon, who were injured along with the driver on Monday when the limo swerved off U.S. Highway 395 in Pleasant Valley and crashed through a barbed-wire fence into a drainage ditch.

McMahon's agent Vincent Calo told the Reno Gazette-Journal on Wednesday that McMahon tore ligaments in his foot and suffered trauma to his head, neck and back. Navon suffered a concussion.

Calo says both have returned home to Scottsdale, Ariz. McMahon played over the weekend in a celebrity golf tournament at Tahoe.

McMahon played in the 1986 Super Bowl during his successful Chicago Bears career. After the 1988 season, he was traded to the San Diego Chargers, but was released after one year.

From 1990-92, McMahon spent three seasons as Eagles starting quarterback Randall Cunningham's backup. McMahon ended up starting 11 games in 1991 after Cunningham tore his anterior cruciate ligament. He went 8-3 in those starts, and finished his three-year stint in Philadelphia with 2,581 yards passing, 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
