  • Faith in Foles?

3 rounds in and the Eagles have not drafted a QB...yet.

They certainly could tomorrow, but even so I suspect a 4th, 5th or 6th rd QB is not a real threat and more simply a development prospect/trade chip (pun intended).

If they had taken Geno or EJ in these first 3 rounds, it probably would have meant they doubted Foles and wanted serious competition for him in place now...

Vick, as we all know, is not long for the Eagles...a rickety bridge at best, but enough for a season, hopefully elevate his value and send him on his way for whatever we can get or let him walk...

Foles would be next in line and may even get some time this coming season if/when Vick gets hurt....

Thus I think Chip and the Eagles are higher on Foles than the media/some fans believe, this draft supports that theory so far and I hope Foles does get a real opportunity here...

I fully believe in Foles and I hope he has straight up opportunity to compete with Vick for the job. I believe he would win the job.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy

I hope Foles has a chance. He is plenty athletic enough. How athletic is Tom Brady at the end of the day ... or Peyton Manning? These guys are extremely cerebral, accurate, and quick with their decisions, but scramblers they are not. Foles seems to have leadership qualities, which are hugely important for a QB, and more than a modicum of talent. Give him a shot. Vick is a stop-gap at best ... let's see if Foles can be the answer behind a good OL with some additional offensive weapons.

Foles has very little chance to be this team's QB going forward and is only the QB of the future because this year's draft class is so weak. They will draft Scott or Dysert or Tuel or whoever else tomorrow and that player will have as much of a shot as Foles to be the guy, IMO

I disagree. They have 4 QBs on the roster now and I doubt like hell there is one out there better than what we have. They have too much new offense to install now without screwing around with a 4th or 5th round guy.

Don't forget Dennis Dixon. He may have as much a chance to get on the field this season as Foles does, and MORE chance than a 4th round pick.

MY bet tho is that it will be Vick.

I think I am with E60. I don't see anyone coming out that is better than Foles.

Oh it will definitely be Vick to start the season, but if/when he goes down Foles is next IMO and will have a chance to steal it. I see Vick moving on after next season and, depending on what the Eagles do today in the draft, I think Foles has every chance to take over....Dixon is possible, but I just do not see him as talented as a QB as Foles

Dixon is the real wild card here. He's never had a chance to play. He started off well as a rook in Pittsburg, but I don't know what happened after that. Maybe Big Ben came along and was that? He's hung around so I wouldn't say that he's been a total bust. There's talent there.

Chip's guy is not on the roster yet, IMO.

But I think Kelly has a little Joe Gibbs in him and feels he can win with any old QB.

As long as its not Vick. I wish someone would make us a trade offer for Vick. I don't see how you can start a new era of Eagles football and keep starting that turnover machine.

I'll agree with that. Defense is our real problem, and I fear he really isn't very good in that area.

Exactly. Dixon is an unknown. I know some Pittsburgh fans that like the kid and wish he had gotten more of a chance.

It's possible that failure to pick a QB is more of a reflection on the lack of qb talent in this years draft than what we have on the roster

Maybe next years draft offers more QB talent

Sometime today I see the Birds drafting a QB (Scott from Arizona?) and the depth chart will be Vick, Dixon, Drafted QB. I have been saying all along that IMO Foles is a square peg in a round hole. I like the Kid and think he can become a good NFL QB but just not in Kelly's system. I wish Foles well but still think he gets trade for a 3rd rder in 2014.
