  • Simmy is history

I just see no way the Birds can hold onto him for another year. Gaither, Gocong and Daniels have to stay. There is just too much talent there to hang with him for another year.

    Let's see:

Trotter, McCoy, Bow Tie, and Barber start. If we keep those 7, even Richardson is gone. Interesting.

60 - that title is a little misleading but anyway - so if Trot goes down during the year - you are willing to go with Gaither at MLB? I don't think JJ will allow Reid to get rid of Simmy. He can play all 3 LB spots (albeit not too well) and he knows the defense and believe it or not - he's a good special teamer. I don't see it happening.

Is Daniels really a certainty to make the team?

Simmy played himself off the team trying to be "Ike" last year. That role goes to Barber. Am I happy with Baither if Trot goes down-you bet. Am I happy with Simmy there? Are you!? I don't see how he makes the team.

On the other hand, what about Richmond. The Birds like him, but he can't stay healthy.

60 - I'm happy with Gaither as well but I'm not ready to throw him in there as the signal caller for the "D". Care to remember Mike Labinjo's start last year vs. the Falcons? And he had a year under his belt which Gaither does not.

He's no MLB Steve. Didn't Labingo get tossed for some other reason? wasn't he running around Philly drinking and getting himself in trouble? I seem to remember something like that.

Agreed, Simmy is on the way out. Gaither has shown among other things that he can take over and direct a defense. At least all the reports on his preparation and leadership have been good. Lurking in the background is another hard worker...Tank Daniels who can also slide into the middle.

Did Daniels play in the middle in the HOFD game or on the outside? I do know he was in the backfield alot
                  I miss Philly!

                    Simy is awful

he was getting tooled on by 2nd and 3rd stringers in the Raiders game.

losing his experience hurts a bit.....but not enough to worry about

I'd like a couple more pre-season games, but I'd rather see Gaither and Daniels than Simmy any day.
