Ok. Romo is getting a steroid shot (epidural) for his disk herniation. I have had this done 3 times in the past, just so that I could play rec league hockey. In most cases, these shots do reduce the swelling and allow you to play. Plus, I was never told that playing hockey with a herniated disk could lead to more permanent back problems. And, I certainly wasn't preparing to play for the NFC East title.
With that said, I think this whole thing possibly sets up perfectly for Romo, unless his herniation is really bad.
1) The Eagles don't know who to prepare for until kickoff.
2) If Romo plays and chokes again, he can blame his back problems.
3) If Romo plays and wins, everyone will call him a hero and a warrior.
4) If Romo is held out, it is because the doctors wouldn't let him play.
I never like any Cowboy. But, I really dislike Romo and don't want him to be made out to be some kind of hero. I would not be a bit surprised if he shows up on Sunday night limping around between plays, only to make athletic plays after the ball is snapped.
I have no doubt that he will be labeled as doubtful on friday and it will be a game time decision.
