  • So do you still draft nut jobs in a heartbeat AW?

First the yo yo intercepts the ball and runs out of the stadium (at least it wasn't a safety which really would have been hilarious!), but he then reverts back to his uncontrollable coach. You simply can't have those types on your team no matter how good they are IMO.

Bufict wasn't drafted he was an UDFA signing. He was not drafted because he is a nut job. When you go with a player like that you have to look at the good and the bad. Yesterday was it.

BTW we had a guy in this town that was just like him. Andre Waters (RIP).
Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

Dirty Waters and he was dirty. Since he was ours we will never admitted it, but if he played the game now he would be on the weekly fine and suspension list.

He was ours so we down play it but he was dirty.

Andre Waters played in a different era with less stringent rules. In the old days you were allowed to go to the head. You could even "clothesline" players by applying a stiff arm under the chin which would stop runners or receivers in their tracks. Of course, players weren't as swift or strong as they are today, so the consequences of the brutality of such actions were not so obvious.

He wasn't out of control nuts like Burfict. Did you ever see him run out of a stadium after he made a play? That was pretty funny though. Burfict is COO COO and out of control.

I would take him and Carlos Dunlap. Both had character concerns coming out. Both are very talented.

The game was decided by the officials. Not the players.

Shazier's hit was ok. Burfict's was not? Don't get that
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

If I recall, he had some character concerns, got busted with pot and than ran a 40 that mirrored OL.

I guess that if you attached a GPS to him you could keep track of him easy enough.

They were identical hits. But one was on a defenseless receiver (or so judged), where helmet contact is a no-no, and one was a runner, where the accidental stuff is more OK. Per the rules, it was called correctly. If you have a beef with those rules, I can understand.

Of course, that Shazier hit resulted in a huge fumble -- helmet-to-helment contact is going to cause the brain to shut down like that. I would highly be in favor of a rule which initial helmet-to-helment contact would be down instantly (or something like the lost helmet rule, where subsequent things in favor of the offensive player, like falling forward, still count but bad things like dropping the ball do not). You're trying to outlaw those hits but there is a still a major incentive to make them.

Oaks Shazier led with crown of his helmet. Clearly.

Andre Waters played dirty. He didn't play stupid.

Looking at the replay.... you're right. Should have been flagged for that.

That was my only thing. Safety Williams for Bengals makes a GREAT shoulder hit and gets a flag. 15 plays later Shazier leads with crown of his helmet and nothing.
