  • Ertz, McKelvin May Be Out Against Bears

    http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/...r_Chicago.html

ZACH ERTZ suffered a fairly serious injury seven plays into the Eagles' season-opening victory Sunday over the Browns, but Ertz stayed on the field, ultimately playing 60 of the team's 77 offensive snaps, catching six passes for 58 yards.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Ertz suffered a "first rib displacement" under his left shoulder, apparently on the tight end's second catch of the opening drive, a 13-yard gain to the Cleveland 20, two plays before rookie quarterback Carson Wentz's first NFL touchdown pass, to Jordan Matthews.

Ertz and Matthews are the team's top passing game weapons.

Pederson said the rib is not broken, but, from the tone of his remarks, it seemed unlikely either Ertz or starting corner Leodis McKelvin (hamstring) will be able to play Monday at Chicago.
IMO Burton can fill in effectively, should this be an ongoing issue. Hopefully Ramsey can continue to work out the rookie kinks and fill in for McKelvin

    Ertz Injury

I lifted this off of the internet:

After the dislocation is corrected, the injured ligaments can take a minimum of six weeks to heal. Additional chest padding or gentle compression may be advised to use during this time.
