  • Trump

I just heard on the radio when I was in my car that Trump spent Thanksgiving with Carrier Air Conditioning. Sounds to me like he's wasting no time letting them know that it's not going to be easy for them to leave the USA.

    I heard the same.

OK, I have bashed trump for a year now, and I still think he may just be a dope. But I will have to admit that in the first weeks of his tenure here, he has been impressing me a bit. The rhetoric has stopped. The calls for unity have been consistent. Bypassing the press with his messages is absolutely brilliant(borrowed ffom FDR, I suppose). And his interviews and appointments all over the map, included reaching out to supposed rivals has shown a lot of character and good judgement.

Either he has gotten smarter, is thinking more clearly now that the battle with his fellow politicians is over(not fellow I guess, since he's not a politician) or he is simply receiving some very good counsel. Regardless, I am gaining a bit more optimism about the possibilities for his term.

Trump needs to do like our Eagles do. Shut out the outside noise, and just do your job.

Fresh I agree 100 percent with the FDR comparison on communicating. The media is out of control in this country from all angles. Politicians use them to shape a narrative. If Trump rolls that back and neuters them by taking a message straight to the voters, that is genius.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

To tell you the truth the less he publicly speaks the better. He's much more effective behind the scene.

I personally think the "Campaign" Trump was a plan just as the President Trump is / may be quite different. And he has shown a new way to get his message out, somewhat like FDR, but today it is so much more than radio.

I personally hate what the media in this country has come too, and that includes the sports media also.

It was just announced that Trump worked a deal to key Carrier in the US. Clinton would have waved good by.

Trump has been making me smile lately. Is he actually going to finally be the president to stand against the tide, and all of the media driven bullshit, shut that crap out and just actually get things done?????

I'm awaiting the announcement of Romney to SS. That would be an ultimate "I don't give a damn what you think" move. And I would applaud it. Amazing that he is even giving Romney as much consideration as he already has. Says a lot.

Oh, and our fine media is already out there crediting Obama for the turn we are starting to see in the economy, Carrier's change of mind(because the economy is looking so bright here) and the stock market. Obama's well laid plans are just kicking in!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!

Obama should be real proud of those phony numbers and his $8.00 an hour part time jobs. What a joke.

Did you like how president Oba,as mouthpiece claimed that Trump would have to do 800 more deals like the one with Carrier to equal this administration's record on manufacturing jobs.......when in fact they have a net loss of over 300000 manufacturing jobs since he took office. What a great track record.

The bar is set veeeeeerrry low.

Since when has making hamburgers been considered manufacturing?

The Softbank thing is pretty cool Fresh but it won't get any coverage. Instead the press will hammer home the fuzzy numbers on the Carrier deal, and they ARE fuzzy. Trump just can't help himself to embellish everything he does. Of course neither can any of these Democrats either. The press never called Obama on any of his bullshiting and believe me there was a ton of it. A lot of it I blame on gullible people though. It's tough living up here, I mean really tough. Even though I live in an independent area the liberals sre still nuts, and unfortunately many are close friends. I've given up discussing anything with them as they are just nuts about politics.

Oh Mike it isn't just your area, the bleeding hearts are all over the country.

The biggest problem is the media --- I know I rail on them for sports, but it goes hand in hand! They try to make news rather than report it. They think their editors KNOW more than the average Joe does so they take it upon themselves to slant the news so they can EDUCATE the dummies out there.

I think it's even more than that Bob. I really think they pick and choose the stories that will sell, and back the side that will stir things up so they will sell even more news. I remember Walter Cronkite, maybe the most respected newsman of our time saying that the press was liberal but it has to be that way. I think that he said that it was their duty to challenge the government. I think that those were different times though. It was when I was a kid and you were in Nam. They certainly have gone overboard now.

I just realized that I just said the exact same thing that you did except maybe a little more long winded lol.
