This might be the dumbest thing that he has ever written!
•Maybe I’m in the minority here but I very much like a foursome at wide receiver of Alshon Jeffery, Torrey Smith, Jordan Matthews and Nelson Agholor. I think Agholor can be a help on special teams and he can become a Jason Avant-type of player. Not necessarily a slot receiver, but someone who can line up and be a go-to target on third downs. I look for Agholor to have a bounce-back season now that he’s got a lot of the attention going in Jeffery’s direction.

I'm speechless (for a change). He would be great if you could hand him the ball 10 yards downfield.

I've been saying he is going to have a comeback year, that was before the additions. He has some skills and confidence or lack of can fuck up an athlete. I watched my best friend who was a catcher, not be able to throw the ball back to the pitcher. He could throw a laser beam to second, but was bouncing it to the P or throwing it 10 ft wide. His comeback will be sidetracked by the new guys, but if he comes back it would be an interesting WR corps
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

      1. Don't you have had to be someplace before you can "comeback" to it?

      2. Aggy is still a real big question mark..... Head problems are very hard to fix.

      3. While reducing reps and plays might be a way to take some pressure off... It also is a double edge sword in that he losses reps and plays.

He could become a player this year or, just as likely, this could be his last year on an NFL roster
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
        Hope is not a strategy

Come on, Spads has been doing this for 25 years. It's not in his nature to be critical or negative and I'm sure its not in his best interest for job security or player relations to say what is really true- the Eagles signed two WR's in free agency to one-year deals (Torrey Smith Potential Out: 2018, 1 yr, $5,000,000; $0 dead cap) and Alshton Jeffrey to a one-year deal.

Essentially, the Eagles will have four WR's all vying for jobs next off-season which puts it in their best interest to perform.

If Agholor doesn't want to be unemployed, he better go to a self-efficacy (confidence in abilities v. confidence in worth) seminar.

All he needs is a big hug.

Oh, I'm not blaming Spads-- it is his job--- my comment was just on the thought.

I believe in fluff too but about the only thing that he could have said to be more outrageous than that comment was to say Cleveland had a great season last year.

Fluff is the perfect word for it!!

Personally, I don't know how Spads does it.

you just don't change hands. If you don't have 'em, you never will

Aggy will never be nothing more than a 4th or 5th WR

we will draft one in the first 4 rounds and Nelson will end up 5th on the depth chart anyway

                        Hopefully for the Cleveland Browns.

I agree. But, the thing is the guy was clutch in college. He was the go-to guy at USC when they needed a play. His hands were never an issue. Then, he gets to the NFL and can't catch a cold. That seems to indicate what we all think, the guy simply lacks the mental toughness to play with the big boys. And, like hands, if you don't have it, you never will.

Honestly I can't say I studied his college games; I only saw the occasional game as most do. As we all know the thing with college success is that you don't play stars every game so it is easier to have success. And anyone can come up with a highlight tape. Even in the NFL Aggy has made a few highlight reel catches. The problem is he just hasn't produced against NFL caliber corners on a regular basis. Maybe it is his head and maybe it is his hands. Doesn't matter. He is going to be lucky to make the roster so he better produce in TC.

I totally agree ND and you can add lack of balls to that. He can't go over the middle because he's afraid to and he can't run medium and long routes because he gets pushed around. Sure he excels at practice and would look like a #1 in the underwear Olympics they just held.
