  • So what happens now at running back?

I don't think that we really have to carry 5 running backs. I think that they'll sit tight for a couple of weeks like that to see how things work out like how fast Ajayi can pick up the offense, how he fits into the locker room and how he meshes with the coaching staff. If there are no further injuries it's not a problem for now. I wonder how much he'll play this week? It's tough on these guys to just hop on a plane 5 minutes after he's traded. I think people forget that these guys have a lot of crap to do. You just can't move on a minute's notice notice. That's very unsettling.

I don't think there's anyone outside of the Eagles coaching staff who has a clue as to how this is going to work out. And, they're probably still thinking about it.

I expect to see the plan after the bye. If he is in this week it will be limited I would guess.
The question is who do you dress. Barner is needed for returns I think; not sure who else is ready to do that. Clement is a staple on specials teams I think so I'm not sure if they have someone who can step in there. Maybe one of the LBs/DBs can do it. Blount isn't going to be inactive I wouldn't think (although I have always said I don't think he adds much to the team).
I'll be curious to see what happens. My guess is clement is inactive and someone else steps n on ST
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
      Hope is not a strategy
      RIP

Smallwood's days are numbered I think. They can't trust him to stay healthy.

Well either he or Ajayi goes. It will be a shame for Clements to be inactive but you're right in that they will roll with Ajayi and Blount for now with Barner at #3 and return man. They might even have Ajayi inactive this week. That would probably make sense.

Fully agree here... I think they found a guy with a lot of upside and thought the deal was a good value and took it.

You can always find a spot for a guy with that much upside I think.

Either Smallwood or Ajayi will be inactive this week. I don’t see them sitting Clemens or Barner because of ST. While I agree he’s limited, Blount will be active this week.

Based on recent usage and how poor Smallwood has been with pass pro, I'm guessing Smallwood is the one who is going to get pushed out.

I think there's a chance it could be Clement or Barner, but as others have said, they have been playing a lot of special teams.

I just don't see that there is a whole lot to be gained by having Ajayi, Blount AND Smallwood active at the same time. The Eagles have always said they like Smallwood as their pass-catching RB now that Sproles is out, but they seem to have soured on him in those situations because if you're going to be in the game on passing downs, you need to be able to pass protect...Especially when your entire franchise hinges on keeping Wentz healthy.
