  • Pederson

One thing that I really liked seeing last night was that even when we were kicking their asses in the 2nd half, Doug did not looked pleased. It looked as if he was still disgusted with the first half performance and knows that we have to be much better if we want to beat good teams down the road.

The thing I've started thinking about Doug Pederson is that he is just so calm and doesn't get rattled. The Eagles have shown multiple times this year that if they need to make some adjustments, they can do so.

It is interesting to contrast Pederson with his coaching mentor, Andy Reid. Reid was great at game preparation before games but sometimes struggled to make adjustments during games (one of his biggest weaknesses IMO).

spot on Chip. Andy was a great coach but had just a few areas needing improvement IMO. Timeout use, having a quality guy letting him know if he should challenge, and adjusting once teams took away areas of play. Doug seems to handle all of those well. And the playbook is really pretty good. His success rate on 4th down, and two points esp, has to be among the highest. I would love to hear the halftime words on what needed adjustment. I said last night I though he needed to run a little more on first and throw a couple of quick slants or something to disrupt the D and that I think he has the players ear. Whatever he said/did it worked.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
      Hope is not a strategy

I also noted this in another post but you are spot on Chip. We always complained about AR's lack of adjustments or not enough IN GAME adjustments-- he had a plan and by god he was gonna stick to it.

And I loved AR as a coach.

We have hardly had to use a timeout all year. That is a credit to Pederson and Wentz. Wentz looked pissed that we had to burn one in the first half yesterday.

LOL. l remember hearing Frank Broyles on a telecast once say "it's amazing how smart of a football coach I became when I finally got good players". Don't get me wrong, I posted many times how impressed I am with Doug's constant game planning and changing his offense. Having guys actually catch the ball does wonders for your passing game. I don't think Doug is twice the coach that he was last year just because he's going to win twice as many games.
