  • Foles was more than fine!

For his first start, I was very pleased with Nick's play. He missed a couple passes but also threw some sweet ones. The fact that the Defense shit the bed for essentially the whole game against a really pathetic Gnat's O was in no way on Foles.

Now if the D in general, and the tackling in particular would improve, maybe this team could make some noise.

Nick was OK, but he had time, and most QBs in the NFL are fine if given time. How different is this game if up 31-23 the Birds don’t commit a dumb offsides penalty on a Vaggie punt? A win is a win, but the D and a weakened OL are serious concerns.

I know nobody wants to hear this but...

The Gnats score on their first 3 drives. From there, they score 9 points and needed a dipshit punt offsides to get a fresh set of downs to keep a drive alive.

The Giants were called for zero holding penalties I believe and the RT jumped at least 15 times.

To me this was a wonderful win.

      1. We won
      2. We won largely because of Nick. He played well.
      3. Nobody got hurt.
      4. The secondary is now pissed and maybe what the Gnats did scheme wise can be fixed.
      5. And this is minor... eventually Bradham is gonna catch one of those.

The D now has some confidence in foles. They need to come out and prove that next week. This is a good win.

Is it just me or does Nick throw a better jump ball than Wentz ? I think Nick has better touch. Had Carson been healthy, we would have scored a TD instead of a FG. Carson could have walked in from the 5

He got lucky on that sack fumble. But overall played well.

I personally thought he would be great today and will be great next week. But it will be covering up reality because the Giants and Raiders defenses are putrid

We need to get the D and our running game straightened out

Nick is fine. He is not and will not be superstar but that defense needs to be looked at. Maybe they have too much game tape on them or maybe they believe their press clippings that they are great but they have not be great for 4 week or so. Nick throws a nice ball and Nick has some escapability in the pocket but he can't handle the same level of pressure as Wentz. OL needs to do what they do
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
                Hope is not a strategy

One two three throw. Why the fuck not lineup and knock them off their routes? The D did get better after the first quarter or so. Still gave up over 500 yards and made Eli look elite.

Ya think??? Put some pressure up the friekin middle on that statue too.

                    My bitches:

Defense: Horrible for awhile now but I do realize that the team is exhausted from the ridiculous 3 game west coast road trip .

Howie: How have you managed to lock up every defensive player except the most consistent one that we have-Bradham?

Doug: How can you go for it on the 43 yard line by packing in your entire formation instead of spreading them out to defend the whole field and expect to gain 1 1/2 yards?

Donnie Jones: You're done. Nerves are shot and I hope he can hang on for awhile.

I agree with all of this and will add two more....

Blount had a couple of chances to have an impact, especially on the 4th down attempt, and looked like he just didn’t give a shit! Each time I thought he gave up too easily! I want him to see fewer and fewer snaps and be released as soon as the season ends.

As for Torry Smith, ditto my thoughts on Blount!

I left out the offsides on a 4th down punt which eventually resulted with a Giant TD. Hill had earlier benefited by a walloff by Bradham to block a punt leading to an Eagle TD. On the next punt the genius Goode decided to jump offside. Fipp should have called him over to his side, pulled out a pistol and then mercifully put a bullet in his head saying "anybody that stupid does not deserve to live". Is there ANYTHING dumber than jumping offside when the other team is going to give you the ball? Anything?? Seriously, anything??? What a friekin moron. When I coached in High School I used to tell my kids that if you ever went offside while the other team was punting don't bother coming near the bus after the game because you sure as hell aren't riding home with me!! And this idiot makes how much money playing football? I'll tell you what Fipp, the next time the other team punts just put some orange cones out there instead of players and at least they won't jump offside. It's almost unimaginable how a professional athlete can do something that stupid.

                          Popper,

You've been reading my mail. Agree with everything you say.

But I think the D sucked the whole game. It's just that the Gnats O is so awful they could only do so much. I think they were in shock at how open the middle of the secondary was.

Doug reverted to Barney Rubble mode today. That was the dumbest challenge I've seen...well, since last week... on the Smith non catch. And the play call on 4th 1 was just sad.

                          Jones was simply awful today.
