The NFL revealed the 2018 Pro Bowl rosters on Tuesday evening and a total of SIX Philadelphia Eagles players made the final cut. Here’s the list.

Carson Wentz — Quarterback (First Pro Bowl selection)

Zach Ertz — Tight end (First Pro Bowl selection)

Lane Johnson — Offensive tackle (First Pro Bowl selection)

Brandon Brooks — Offensive guard (First Pro Bowl selection)

Fletcher Cox — Defensive tackle (Third Pro Bowl selection)

Malcolm Jenkins - Safety (Second Pro Bowl selection)

It’s no surprise to see the Eagles well-represented considering they own the best record in the NFL at 12-2. All of these players are very deserving.

Let’s state the obvious right away: the hope is that none of these players will actually be playing in the Pro Bowl game itself. Ideally they’ll be preparing for the Super Bowl at that time.
Wentz was named as the starting quarterback for the NFC. Due to his ACL injury, he obviously won’t be playing even if he was eligible. This will likely be the first of many Pro Bowl honors for Wentz.
Ertz finally had that breakout year we’ve always been waiting for.
Johnson was a no-brainer. The best right tackle in the league.
Brooks was also another obvious choice. One of the best guards in the league.
Another year where Cox makes it.
No love for Brandon Graham, Jason Kelce, and Kamu Grugier-Hill. Or Nigel Bradham. Snubbed.
The 2018 Pro Bowl game will air on ESPN/ABC on Sunday, January 28. The event is hosted in Orlando, Florida and will feature the NFC battling against the AFC.
    REACTIONS FROM EAGLES PLAYERS
    Brandon Brooks

On initial reaction to earning a Pro Bowl nod:

“I was excited but I come from a unit where we all are straight brothers. So it’s not like an individual accolade. It’s (offensive line coach Jeff) Stoutland coaching me up, getting me right, refining my technique and things like that. Playing alongside Lane Johnson and Jason Kelce helps tremendously and Carson (Wentz) playing well and making plays. So although it’s kind of an individual honor I wouldn’t be able to do it without playing in between these two guys and guys making plays in the backfield too.”

On Lane Johnson making the Pro Bowl:

“Lane’s an incredible football player man from an athletic standpoint and a mental standpoint knowing what’s going on in the game. Probably ten or so years ago the better rushers on the team would be on the left side with the left tackle but probably within the past five or seven years all the really good rushers have went over to the right side or two defensive ends are really good on both sides. With Lane over there a lot of time at right tackle it may cause matchup problems but with Lane over there it’s no problem. Whether it’s holding his own versus Von Miller or Joey Bosa, JPP (Jason Pierre Paul). I mean he’s played a long list of guys this year. Justin Houston. And really held his own it’s been incredible to watch. In our system too you have to give credit where credit is due a lot of the time tackles are just one on one on an island out there and to be able to hold up one on one with some of the best pass rushers in the world you know that’s been incredible to watch.”

    Lane Johnson

On being named to the Pro Bowl:

“It’s been one of my goals to be called one of the best in the world at what you do, so it’s pretty special.”

    On Brandon Brooks' nomination:

“I think Brandon and I play really well together. A lot of his success determines my success and vice versa. I'm so happy for him. He definitely deserves it, really good player.”

    Zach Ertz

On showing the league what he knew what he was capable of:

“It's rewarding. I think any person wants to see the 'hard work' pay off, but at the end of the day I've had catches and yards and touchdowns before but I've never had a team like this. The ultimate goal is to win football games in this league. If you don't win, nothing really matters. That's what's been so rewarding this year. I've been a really big contributor on a really good football team. I think that whole process has been really fulfilling.”

On why this was the year:

“I think there were a ton of factors that have played into it starting with the coaches this offseason. I was probably a good route runner but the whole offseason focus was becoming a great route runner at the tight end position. Doug (Pederson), Frank (Reich), Coach Flip (quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo), and my tight end coach Justin Peelle - he's been with me since the beginning. He stressed so many different things to me over the past five years that I definitely wouldn't be the player I am today without him and all the great coaches that I have. Being on the same page as Carson, finally having that consistency at quarterback has been huge. Playing in the same offense again, an offense like this has been huge as well, so there's been a ton of factors, a lot of people who have helped me along the way to this stage in my career so I'm extremely grateful that I'm here to kind of represent them and see how far we've come.”
