  • Andy Reid

So, do you think Pederson picks up the phone to ask Andy for any pointers on beating the Patriots. KC did beat them early in the year.
It would seem to me any insite is good, whether you use it or not.

    probably already done
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

      No.

There is enough tape on the game for defensive purposes.

And, Doug is doing just fine with the offense and playing much more aggressive than Andy ever has.

To me, you have to play the Pats with the idea that whatever you do in the first half will be countered and whatever they do in the first half will be changed. I think you need to be able to change strategies series to series.

I also think that no matter the size of the lead, the Patriots will not be giving up anytime soon nor will they take the foot off the gas.

This--- the world knows that Belicheat is very good after Half time-- gotta be ready to change things up to counter any adjustments he makes. But it will still come down to execution and turnovers IMM.

I would certainly hope he has talked to him. And to anyone else he feels has insight and is willing to talk.
The patriots are an outstanding football team with outstanding coaching. It is hard enough to beat them straight up let alone give them the ball on turnovers. So help yourself and win, or keep even, the turnover battle.
JMO but you can execute all you want but running the same play (offensively or defensively) in the third quarter that you ran five times in the first half will get you nothing. On the other hand running five different plays off that formation with proper execution may get you somewhere. A constant headline is Belichick outcoaching his opponent. Doug & Co need to stay up with him. Personally I think Doug can do a good job. Maybe not Belichick good but good enough.
Read (maybe on here) or saw something earlier. In the seven super bowls that the Pats have been in since 2001 they have not scored any points in the first quarter. As someone above alluded to you have to play all 60 minutes and step on their throat the entire time. Don't let them get one breath of air.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
                      Hope is not a strategy
                      RIP

Absolutely spot on!! TO's and execution

In the Patriots last two Superbowls (Atlanta, Seattle) the Patriots won the second halves:

the Falcons second half drives- OC Kyle Shanahan

                        6 3 15:00 ATL 19 3 1:53 4 Punt
                        7 3 12:45 ATL 15 8 4:14 85 Touchdown
                        8 3 02:06 NWE 41 3 2:15 -15 Punt
                        9 4 09:44 ATL 27 3 1:20 -2 Fumble
                        10 4 05:56 ATL 10 6 2:26 45 Punt
                        11 4 00:57 ATL 11 4 0:54 16 Punt

the Seahawks second half- OC Darrel Bevell

                        6 3 15:00 SEA 20 7 3:51 72 Field Goal
                        7 3 8:07 SEA 50 6 3:13 50 Touchdown
                        8 3 3:15 SEA 20 4 2:20 33 Punt
                        9 4 14:17 SEA 36 3 2:07 -5 Punt
                        10 4 7:55 SEA 20 3 1:03 5 Punt
                        11 4 2:02 SEA 20 7 1:42 79 Interception

There can be no argument that those OCs completely fucked up those Superbowls. Both teams were ahead of the Pats in the fourth and blew it by not being able to move the ball at all when it counted. There is no way that Doug, Reich and DeFillippo won't be able to adjust and move the ball. They are much better play callers than Shanahan and Bevill and are much more experienced game plan adjusters- Reich orchestrating the greatest comeback in playoff history.

One Andy Reid favourite play that I don’t think we ran all year is the goal line shovel pass. That is one example of a play that could work really well.
Just like that inside trap we ran to Agholor. Another Andy Reid play that we called at the perfect time vs the Falcons. Why did it work? Because we hadn’t done it all year. It didn’t work the second time. Neither will anything vs Bill.

I guess that Reid could help him with a couple of plays but other than that he's useless. I still remember the SB in '05 when he was too friekin stupid to run the ball in the second half when NE was only playing 2 friekin down lineman on defense because he knew pass happy Andy wouldn't run the ball. After the game Belechek was asked about it and he said that "he was surprised that they didn't run against us". Yeah right. Translation-"That frustrated old offensive lineman is too carried away with himself drawing x's and O's to run the ball and anyone with half of a brain knows that".
                            "Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"
