When in the HISTORY OF FOOTBALL have injuries actually helped a team get better? Think about it. Darby gets hurt and Robinson and Graham play lights out. Sturgis gets hurt and a rookie comes in and wins a game with a kick that Sturgis couldn't make in his dreams. Hicks gets hurt and we find out that Jenkins is Superman and a supposed washed up linebacker Kendricks is still a stud. Smallwood gets hurt and we end up with a terrific rb in a trade. Sproles gets hurt and we find out that Clement is a future star. Peters gets hurt and we find out that we have had a starting LT on the bench all along. Our star QB gets hurt and our backup actually plays better than him in the Super bowl and outduels Brady. I would argue that the injuries actually helped our team more than hurt it and won us a Super bowl!

Did they help the team get better? Or were we a very deep team that didn't have much drop off from the starter to the backup. Or did we have a great coaching staff who figured out how to get the most of the talent that was available? You make your own luck. Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

They didn't help the team get better. I think taz has it about right. The depth guys were not significantly worse than the starters. And the staff did the best job I have seen in Eagle history of using the guys properly (although I think Vermeil used his players better than a lot of other coaches). Foles has always had talent; his coaches didn't always use that talent. Kendrick has always had skill. Hell he showed it as a rookie. His coaches either didn't use him properly or maybe didn't motivate him properly but he had talent. Just like his brother. And the staff did a good job of evaluating talent when they picked up people like Elliot and didn't hesitate to pull the trigger when they say a good deal like the Ajayi trade. They really didn't need to trade for Ajayi as they had a pretty good stable of backs but the adage is that you never turn down talent if it is affordable.
This super bowl ring was 100% a result of the coaching staff IMO. That same group of players doesn't win this with a different coaching staffWait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy

You both make valid points but I respectfully disagree. The team seemed to not only keep the early season momentum but also gained it with each setback. Injuries seemed to fuel them and brought out even more effort to win. When they reached the playoffs I think that they won with raw emotion. In the long run it will help us. On Ajayi I think you are wrong ND. He hit the ground running when he first showed up and never stopped. One more injury helped this team in a big way too BTW. Aaron Rogers."Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

In any case, I'm still pinching myself...but not below the waist!

You could easily say that our same coaches couldn’t have won with another group of players of equal or better talent. It’s really a pointless argument.Canada's #1 Eagles fan.

They're the last one of the originals not to do it. And to all of the rest of the NFL I've got two words for you---and they aren't "Let's Dance"!
