Big Ed has retired at the age of 67 along with Jeff Triplette
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

His son Shawn Hochuli was named as one of the two new refs this year (he has been a back judge the past three years, and a side judge the year before that).

Thank God Triplette is gone!! He was always so freaking smarmy, I wanted to jump through the TV and Hulk-smash him and his shit-eating grin.
