The Eagles found their veteran tight end.

The Philadelphia Eagles are signing free agent tight end Richard Rodgers to a one-year contract, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport. UPDATE: The team has officially confirmed the news as well.
Rodgers is a player I mentioned as a potential Eagles target earlier this week.
Who needs that Rodgers guy from the Packers when they already have Carson Wentz? Oh, sorry, RICHARD Rodgers. Yeah, he’s nothing special, but nothing terrible. As our friends over at Acme Packing Company recently laid out, he’s a quality No. 3 tight end. He’s not known for his blocking but he can catch so he might be ideal candidate for the old Burton role. The 26-year-old has only missed one game in his career so he’s durable as well.
The Eagles were always bound to sign a veteran tight end in free agency after releasing Brent Celek and letting Trey Burton sign with the Chicago Bears.
Green Bay originally selected Rodgers with a third-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He finished his four-year stint with the Packers with 120 receptions for 1,166 yards (9.7 average) and 13 touchdowns. Eight of those scores came in 2015 alone.
Rodgers gives the Eagles more depth behind Zach Ertz at tight end. His signing doesn’t rule out the Birds selecting a player at his position in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Jimmy Kempski reports the signing of Rodgers will NOT count against the Eagles’ compensatory pick formula. This indicates it’s a vet minimum deal.

Having Hurst make it to #32 would be sweet. Then again you never know what Joe and Howie are thinking. If Kenricks doesn't take a cut they might have their eye on a linebacker instead. Those seem like the only positions that they might target."Hey Giants, who's your Daddy?"

Looks to me like they just want to have all their bases filled so they can do what they want come draft time. They have Ertz, they have two other cats whose name I don't recall right away and now they have Mr. Rodgers. They signed the LB from Det Worrill (sp?) last week so they have a handful there. They'll sort it out in camp. Nothing wrong with that.Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
Hope is not a strategy
