Eagles | Sheppard could miss 4-6 weeks
    Mon, 11 Sep 2006 19:17:16 -0700

Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports Philadelphia Eagles CB Lito Sheppard (ankle) will likely miss the team's Week 2 game. Sheppard could miss four-to-six weeks with a "pretty significantly sprained" ankle.

i'm guessing that's best case. i'd like to see this guy get healthy at some point this year.
Don't kid yourself Jimmy. If a cow ever got the chance, he'd kill you and everyone you cared about!

I'm not really that upset about this. Rod Hood is terrific and we play some awful teams the first 4-6 weeks.

Sheppard wasn't even healthy w/o this setback. His injury from last year clearly had taken something from his overall speed.

Let's see him recover and get ready for the stretch run.

Considering what SFPhillyfan and Big Philly say about the schedule over the next 4-6 weeks, maybe the Birds catch some luck this year as far as injuries go.

Tough for ANY football team to win the SB with devastating and poorly timed injuries. Hopefully this will be one of those luckier moments...

The only silver lining here is that it's early in the season & as mentioned the schedule isn't bad at all.I don't have a problem with Hood but Hanson & Wynn(I'm guessing that's the move)scare the shit out of me in coverage. Both guys can play the run but JJ needs guys that can cover in nickle & dime sets. They'll go more conservative and play back for a few weeks until Lito gets healthy and that's okay as long as Lito's ready to go after week #9.The second half is when we'll really need him so give him all the time he needs for now.
Just give me ONE before I go!

Let's just hope we can get consistent pressure from the front four and then we can keep more guys in coverage.

What's the cap ramifications for letting Lito go in the next few years? He just got a real large contract?

We'd take a $2MM additional cap hit to cut him rather than keep him.
