  • Dawk to speak later

I have the feeling that he will be the last to speak because he's going to be just too tough an act to follow.

No other fan base deserves him. That man was born to play for Philly and no where else.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

read Instant Replay in high school and Distant Replay when I came home from Germany. I would expect a great speech. Will watch later as I recorded the entire thing.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I read Instant Replay as a kid as soon as it came out. I ordered Distant Replay as soon as his speech was over after I read the synopsis. It's on amazon for 6 bucks.

Man I love Dawk. Had plans to be there and unfortunately plans changed. Did not know he was depressed and considered suicide. Glad he got help. Hell of a player, hell of a man! God we were lucky to have him as an Eagle!

On a side note I chuckle every time they show the clip of Dawk pregame with McDermott right next to him stone faced. He is either scared, trying not to laugh, or can really keep an even keel. Hysterical. Anyone seen that?

As much as I loved Dawk I wasn't very impressed with the speech last night. All of the screaming and yelling isn't the humble guy that I know. I handed my wife a box of Kleenex before the speech and said "here you'll need this" but she sure didn't need it. Maybe it's just me. I mean he used to call himself "idiot man" for coming out of the tunnel with the wolverine act and then came out with it for the HOF speech? Oh well, he's in and happy so that's all that counts.

I was on a football reading kick in HS . I read Stauback's book, Kramer's Instant Replay and Gale Sayer's I Am Third. Also read the Tony Conigliario Book as well. I lost too many brain cells since then to remember the others and the titles.
