  • Wentz and teammates was total BS-foundation softball game

I've got the feeling that he's going to want to get paid to fund his foundation though. His comments about how much he loves Philly were pretty cool too.

I read two other articles about the event and there wasn't a negative note in any of it. To be expected but nice to see anyway. Wentz is going to wan to be paid. Not sure there are too many out there that don't want to get paid. I know Brady has had team friendly deals but I also know he gets a whole lot from the Pats that isn't a dollars and cents thing.
We will have to see if Wentz holds the Eagles up like a common crook or if he accepts market price. If anyone believes he is going to accept being the low paid QB in the NFL they are smoking legal marijuana. Myself, I think he will be offered and will accept a market price deal and Howie will have to juggle a little to get it done
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy
    RIP

I agree that there is not going to be much of a hometown discount ND. I don't think that he will be a jerk about it either and it will pretty much be a non issue when the time comes. It will be interesting more than anything else IMO. I'd like to see him work something out like Brady has always done but I'm not holding my breath. Brady is so obsessed with winning that he's totally unique from most people and just leaves money on the table for the rest of the team. I don't think that it's out of benevolence at all but rather that he benefits from it too by having better talent around him. He's been that way right from the beginning of his career even before he married "the bank".

No fan of Brady but the fact that he takes less than he could demand and has done so for years tells me he is a smart guy. Not only does he leave bucks for other guys but his "unselfishness" has to be seen in a positive light by most if not all of his mates.

I guess we'll see if Carson is as "smart". I'm still naive enough to hope so.

Brady is not well liked at all around the country but I have to tell you the truth that I like the guy along with everybody else up here. There's a whole other side to him that people don't get to see. I know that he's kind of a jerk on the field but it ends there. As far as the rest of the organization they can go rot in hell along with their "fans" who didn't even know there was a football team in Massachusetts until Brady came along.

He's going to get paid among the top QBs in the league. I just hope he can stay on the field and earn it.

I guess that you could say that about any QB EB and I'm as concerned as anybody is about him. That was Tony Romo's problem too and look at the time Aaron Rodgers has missed and nobody mentions that at all. Shit happens. It's nice to be tall and lanky until a 300 pounder lands on you or you get hit in the side. There's something to be said for shorter QBs that is never brought up. Maybe Doug has to find ways to protect him better. Somehow the Patriots manage to keep Brady clean. Then again he bails a lot but Wentz's legs are a huge part of his game. There's a catch 22 there.

This spot on 60 IMO. Look at Russell Wilson. Short and stocky. Has missed very few games. The same is true for a lot of QB's that have thick frames. DMac was like that.

You guys want to see a crazy sight ? Look at this one.

Yea, I agree with you. But, then again, some guys just can't stay healthy, it doesn't matter what you do. And then there are guys like Eli that never get hurt. I really don't think they can tone down Wentz's game. He's going to do what he's going to do. They can say protect yourself, go out of bounds, get the ball out quicker, and yada yada, but when the bullets start flying he's going to follow his instincts.

I imagine as his career moves along that he's not going to have those "young legs" and he'll change his game. As I said before that's not going to change him getting hit in the pockett where I'm more concerned about him getting hurt. McNabb could take those shots because he was built like a linebacker, not the lanky guy that Wentz is. Didn't Wentz miss a year in college too? Damn, I guess that you're right about not waiting until after the season to sign him. There's no real rush about it anyway. He's signed through this year and then he can get franchised the next year. I don't think that there will be a problem with money unless he gets hurt again this year. Then you throw you're hands up in the air a say WTF????
