I'd take that if his head is on straight
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
    Hope is not a strategy

He's got the physical tools to play the X. But, if you notice on the highlights, he rarely gets challenged at the LOS. He's either getting a free release, or the college CB doesn't do a good job of obstructing him. Life in the NFL ain't gonna be like that.

The case for most WRs in college. They just rarely if ever face CB talent like they will in the pros.
Last year JJAW's "thing" was his ability to make the 50-50 catch. Much easier to make that contested catch when you are up against a guy who was the number 85 corner coming out of high school than it is against an NFL corner. Any NFL corner. But you have to project what a guy is going to do and that is a risky business

Both of you make good points. I'll just say that with NFL rules that hinder dbs there aren't many good jammers there either.

They aren't hindered at the LOS. College WRs aren't used to having someone muscle them. And then the CBS are faster, quicker, and know how to leverage their bodies. That's why it's so hard to project. That's also what makes the right guy so much more valuable.

You are right EB but there aren't really very many dbs in the NFL who can jam either.

Watch the national championship game again. He was not challenged at the line, but went against one of the top corners in the draft and, if I recall, pretty much ate his lunch.

I'd be happy if they snagged him and grabbed someone later as well
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

Maybe we should draft the corner LOL.

The more I watch Higgins the more I don't like his game. Against good corner college he struggled. So with that, Welcome to Philly Tee Higgins
