  • Parcells news conference

Was surprised that he really gave the Eagles, little if any credit. He said
( i'm paraphrasing)" they had 3 or 4 big plays that constituted most of their offense." " We had a special teams turnover and another turnover that resulted in TD'S." " The sacks we gave up( many of them) were more mental errors then anything." " We ran 29 or 30 more plays then they did, and had alot more rushing yards then they did." "We just made too many mistakes."..................All of that may be true, but it seems like Philly created more then a little of that.............Sour Grapes!!!

    screw him.

his biggest mistake was thinking he could win with Drew Bledsoe. Just like Gibbs with Brunell. Those two old gasbags are so full of themselves that they believe they are the reason the team wins -- therefore, they can make virtually any player a winner.

Bill's probably dealing with a lot of sky-is-falling nonsense in Big D today. So, I think its natural for him to try and defend his team. He's right about a lot of things, but giving up 4 big plays is a recipe for a loss. Its not luck either, it was by design. The long LJ gain, the Baskett bomb, and the Brown flea-flicker were all great play calls and great recognitions on the field by McNabb. Its stuff like that that makes the difference in the NFL these days.

But he's got to defend his team. I think the Pukes are pretty darn good, and I'm sure Parcells thinks the same, and right now wants nothing mroe than another crack at us.

Did anyone ask Bill if he thought the Demarcus Ware big play turnover resulted in a TD was fair for his team?

Did Dallas have two nice TD drives? Sure.

Do we have an MVP at QB who can make big plays and did? Sure.

        Deal with it. Scoreboard beyotch.

Well, I guess you don't diss your own team after a defeat, and he's got to concentrate more on what his team needs to do......but using a line like "mental errors" to explain 7 sacks, and all those long TD's?

Seriously, I guess he just couldn't think of anything else to say. But a more-like-Andy-Reid response like "The Eagles beat us. Plain and simple. We need to do better a better job executing, we just can't turn the ball over, give up big plays and all those sacks, and that's on me. Not my QB, or my players. It's on me" at least makes more sense.

It sounds like he's drinking the kool aid. Strange.
"Philly fans are great....It's the only place where you pull up on the bus and you've got the grandfather, the grandmother, the kids and the grandkids - everybody flicking you off. At other stadiums, they give you the thumbs-down. Here, they give you the middle finger.”

"No one likes us, no one likes us, no one likes us, we don’t care, we’re from Philly, F—-ing Philly, No one likes us, we don’t care!”

I keep hearing this "big play" argument from our opponents, but that's just what this offense does. We are putting up 20+ yard plays in record numbers.
Whatcha Gonna Do Brother, When the Eagles run wild on you?

Yea and the slight so far was that we couldn't do it against a top tier defense like the Cowboys. So much for that.

Exactly. Teams we beat seem to think they could just play the game again the same way and not give up the big plays, and all would be well.

Meanwhile, Reid and Morningweg game plan all week to find mismatches and exploit them for big plays.

If Parcells really wanted to cut down on the big plays, he ought to start two safeties who don't have the phrase "Beat Me Deep!" across the front.

that sounds a bit kinky, actually.

Um, Bill Parcells is the coach of the Cowboys, not the Eagles. His concern is the mistakes that his team made and how to prevent them in the future. Of course the Eagles forced and exposed a lot of those mistakes. What difference does that make to Parcells? What's he supposed to do, sit there and knob the Eagles all day?

Mere mortals, such as posters on EFO, should not dare to question the assessment of a God-like Being. I know this to be true, because we have been told Parcells is a genius for the past 20 years.

And yet...and yet, when I read examples of his distilled wisdom, such as those he shared in his press conference, a small nagging voice keeps saying to me....

Is it me or has Parcells moved on to a C-cup?
