Free agents the Eagles can sign now that it won’t impact their compensatory pick formula - BGN

CARLOS HYDE. If the Eagles are looking for a big, physical veteran running back to replace Jordan Howard, Hyde fits the bill. He’s actually coming off a career season where he logged 245 attempts for 1,070 yards (4.4 average) and six touchdowns with the Houston Texans. Hyde turns 30 in September.

There's Holyfield too. And the newly-drafted guy too. It's possible they would still kick the tires on Hyde though. Competition.

Wouldn't surprise me if they picked up a Vet back. Also wouldn't surprise me if they gave Warren, Holyfield and Killins a shot.

I do think Howie is going to bring in a few more Vets throughout the roster. RB certainly seems like a good spot to go get one.

The roster has increased this season isn't it? I hope that Motar sticks. That little shit can fly. If we do run some gadget plays they probably involve him over Hurts. If you get him any space he's gone.

not a big fan of Hyde
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

Interesting questions this year. In a normal year I can see the birds going with the young guys in the quest to get younger and keep an eye on the cap. With a potential short TC I could see the birds trying to grab a vet since they know what they are getting. If I kind of put those together I think Holyfield knows the system and allows them to go toward the youth movement. I won't be surprised to see them give Holyfield and the others chance before looking for a vet.
The roster has expanded but I think the birds already have something like 24 new guys coming to camp this year. They can do alot of makeover with that.
Maybe Hurts is your banger . He might be the guy getting that short yard on 3rd or 4th instead of Wentz
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
            Hope is not a strategy
