  • Dhani Jones and Reno Mahe

Two guys I typically roast - really played well today. Both of them.

Yep, couple of nice returns by Mahe-Mahe. And the Dhani Jones air guitar? Well, he'll be forgiven for it today.

great of us to take such advantage of starting at the 50 thanks to mahe on 3 straight drives - 2 before halftime and 1 to start the 2nd half
Five straight losses, including a crucial one at Dallas on Christmas Day, send them out against Atlanta, needing the win, plus help. -Dr. Z, 8/31/06

I think Jones has been our best LB the entire season. McCoy is just too small and gets steamrolled. Barber has done some nice things too. Trotter is almost a down lineman the way the Eagles use him.

Dhani had another nice game and while BP doesn't agree with me - Dhani's day against Jacksonville, although average, was still the best of the unit and perhaps the whole defense.

Shawn Barber should be starting ahead of McCoy. It looked like Barber was on the field as much as McCoy yesterday.

I remember one running play where McCoy literally was thrown 5-7 yards down the field on a block by a Skins O-lineman on a Portis sweep play early in the game. Now i know the guy is small, but man, he needs to learn some better technique and leverage for taking on blockers. Otherwise he'll be out of a job before the end of the year.

It was in the first quarter. The Skins ran a sweep and I think Chris Samuel knocked McCoy into Camden.

Between McCoy and the DT's, we have some smallish players that can be expoited by a bigger running team.

Then again, the Skins scored 3 points on us.

Yeah, it's tough to complain after the defense pretty much pitched a shutout yesterday. I just see this being an issue later in the season after an undersized guy like McCoy is further worn down after the wear and tear of a long season.
