  • What is up with the officiating

despite the best efforts of the officials the eagles kicked ass again. i have never seen some many offensive pass interference penalties during one contest yet alone against one team. it is embarrassing. my family who are basically neutral sports fans were making comments right and left about the calls. every time a flag was thrown my grandfather yelled PASS INTERFERENCE...ON THE OFFENSE.

I don't buy into organized favoritism among the officials, but the lack of balance in calls tonight is tough to explain.

Especially troubling, after all the defensive holding calls on the Birds, was the lack of a call on the Dallas linebacker...Singleton, I think...who clearly appeared to grab Westy's arm twice on the long side line pass in the 2nd half!

Maybe Romo had promised to fix them up with some of his "groupies" if they saw things the right way

The Cowboys had 2 penalties on them the whole game. I think both were false starts.

And they were back to back right after Romo made a nice play on the snap over his head.

I kinda agree, and I'm not a ref basher but some of the stuff I see the birds getting called for I don't see coming the other way. I saw Garcia slide one time and get nailed and no flag. Pizzed me off, hell if we breathe hard on a QB we get 15 yards.

We beat the Giants with the refs in their pocket, and we did the same thing to the Cowboys. Just winning those games alone is impressive, but to do it on the road, with the officiating in both games, is really, really impressive.

The play to Westy where the LB closed ground and reached out and grabbed him was a joke and only a few minutes after a holding call on the Birds secondary if I remember correctly.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I'm not a conspiracy theory guy but I have seen some of the worst officiating in my life this year. It's a joke that the Eagles are given such a tough schedule with a last place finish last year. Who in th hell ever heard of three road games in a row against division rivals in December and with one of them on Christmas day? Then add in the unbalanced and God-aweful officiating and it's hard not to think the league is trying to find a new king for the NFC East. Not that I believe this, but it is really hard to look at this stuff and not feel a little bit like there's something going on.

Yesterday I was reading one of the Cowboys forums after the game (great pleasure). A few of their fans were complaining that the refs were not calling enough penalties on the Eagles
