5 DeMarcus Cousins-Esque Trades That Could Go Down in the NFL

The Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans made one of the biggest deals the NBA has seen in recent memory during All-Star weekend, as the Kings sent star center DeMarcus Cousins to the Pelicans for a first-round pick and a few middling players. That got us thinking, what kind of crazy trades could we see in the NFL that would be of that caliber?

    5. Jimmy Graham to the Patriots

The Patriots LOVE having a ton of talent at their tight end position. They had two of the league's best in Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett last season, and even though Gronk got hurt, having Bennett there to back him proved critical in the playoffs. Bennett will likely be too expensive of a free agent, so why doesn't the team send a second-round pick out to Seattle and bring in the explosive Jimmy Graham? It could work.

    4. Kirk Cousins to San Francisco

This deal makes even more sense than you think. Cousins spent the first few years of his career developing under Kyle Shanahan, the new 49ers coach. If San Fran swaps first-round picks with Washington and adds in a few more lesser assets, this deal could become a reality.

    3. Jimmy Garoppolo to the Browns

This is the most likely trade to go down, the question is, what will the Browns give up? Some have argued the team could give up the No. 1 pick in return for Jimmy G and a third or fourth-round pick. However, it would make more sense for them to send a later first-round pick, like the No. 12, and a later-round pick to acquire their QB of interest. Either way, this makes a ton of sense.

    2. Joe Thomas AND Joe Haden to the Tennessee Titans

The Titans are in desperate need of both offensive line and secondary help. They also have a stockpile of draft picks thanks to trading down from the No. 1 overall pick last season. Send their No. 18 pick and a few other assets to Cleveland in return for these two, and the Titans are a playoff team. Cleveland also gets some more ammunition to either draft more players, or flip it to get a QB like Jimmy Garoppolo.

    1. Antonio Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles

You want crazy? WELL YOU GOT CRAZY. Now, the craziness surrounding Antonio Brown has calmed down over the past few weeks after an insane start to the offseason. However, the Kings also said they definitely weren't trading DeMarcus Cousins just seconds before pulling the trigger. The Steelers could send Antonio Brown out to Philadelphia in exchange for linebacker Mychal Kendricks, wide receiver Paul Turner, and a few draft picks, including the Eagles first rounder this year.

It's an insane deal, but it COULD make sense for both teams.

Brown is a STUD. I will pack Kendricks bags, drive him to Pittsburgh and Pick up Brown and bring him to Philly
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

The craziest thing about that deal is Paul Turner being mentioned. I doubt that Pittsburgh even knows who he is.

Concerns me. We can't go investing heavily in another spot, IMV. We would have a ton of money and resources used to acquire 3 players..... Carson, Brown and Cox. And the rest of the roster filled with.....bleh.

Doesn't seem like the right program for team building. In fact, it sounds like the old formula used for the past decade or so of the Dallas Cowpies.

Dallas' problems were never a lack of talent Fresh. They were always loaded. Their problems were JJ hiring guys who would listed to him try to run the team. If they didn't luck out with Prescott they would have imploded by mid season. Anyway my point is that they always paid people well and still were able to keep talent. There are ways and that's what Howie is paid the big bucks for-to find a way to pay them all.

I'd rather take the $20M per year its going to cost for Brown and put it towards 3 O-Linemen. While I don't like using Brady as an example, he's proven above a shadow of a doubt that team's can win with second, third, and even fourth tier talented WRs.

They do, however, need top tier CBs.

NE wins by putting 21 bodies on the field with Brady. They've won SBs with lousy defenses. Heck, one year they lost their whole defensive backfield and they won. I'd admire the heck out of just about any team other than them who could do what they do.

They have something that we dont Bellichek. Nobody is going to confuse Dougie for Bellichek. Gonna be a while before anyone confuses Carson for Brady, too. We needs a strong cast around him.
