  • Jason Short

Normally I could give a rat's ass about what SI thinks, but they ranked him in their top 10 "most feared" NFL players, so what the hell. But they had him ranked below Roy Williams, who I think needs his horse-collar tackles to make the list. Plus they put Baltimore's Ray Ray at #3 (can you say HYPE???)

Affectionately known as Full Throttle, Short is so recklessly aggressive on kick coverage that offensive and defensive players alike stop to behold his violent collisions. Nominally a defensive end, the 254-pounder has no apparent regard for his -- or anyone else's -- physical well-being.

"Philly fans are great....It's the only place where you pull up on the bus and you've got the grandfather, the grandmother, the kids and the grandkids - everybody flicking you off. At other stadiums, they give you the thumbs-down. Here, they give you the middle finger.”
    — Michael Strahan

"No one likes us, no one likes us, no one likes us, we don’t care, we’re from Philly, F—-ing Philly, No one likes us, we don’t care!”

You can't seriously be quibbling about Short's ranking, can you? How many NFL fans hve even heard of the guy? Heck, how many players have even heard of the guy? It's nothing less than amazing that he's on the list at all.

I doubt many guys struggle sleeping fearful of Short....sorry, but that was like IMK says an amazing choice considering all the players who do much more in this league and are much more worthy of fear IMO....
Eliminate distractions, create energy, fear nothing, and attack everything.

Maybe it's not hype. Perhaps they were giving him extra credit for fear people have of him OFF of the field as well.

His "got knocked out, woke up bleeding and cussing out everyone and thier momma" in Cleveland in 2004 was awesome.

He needs to stay healthy though.
