Just updating in one thread here:

    RETURNING TO THE EAGLES:
LB NIGEL BRADHAM - Starting strongside linebacker had 97 tackles in 18 starts (regular season and playoffs combined). Ranked third on the team in tackles for the second straight year. Agreed to terms on a five-year deal with the Eagles on Wednesday.

    GONE:
DT Beau Allen - A reliable rotational player who has missed just one game since being selected in the seventh round out of Wisconsin in 2014. Reportedly will sign with Tampa Bay.

TE Trey Burton - Will forever be known for his role in the iconic Philly Special play as he threw the touchdown to Nick Foles. Former rookie free agent had a career-high five touchdown receptions in 2017. Agreed to terms with the Bears.

CB Patrick Robinson - Former first-round pick found a home as a slot corner in 2017 with Eagles. Pick-six in NFC Championship Game turned the tide. Final player to touch and get the ball to the ground on the Patriots' Hail Mary attempt at end of Super Bowl. Returning to where he was drafted in New Orleans.

    STILL UNSIGNED:
RB Kenjon Barner - Midseason addition who filled in as the primary return specialist after Darren Sproles was lost for the season. Named Special Teams Player of the Week in the NFC following the win over Arizona thanks to a 76-yard punt return.

T Will Beatty - Another midseason addition who provided insurance at tackle. Has 63 career starts under his belt.

RB LeGarrette Blount - Won his third Super Bowl after leading the Eagles with 90 rushing yards and scoring a touchdown in the championship victory over his former team, the New England Patriots. Paced the Eagles with 766 yards on the ground last season. Reportedly will meet with the Lions on Thursday.

LB Bryan Braman - Returned late in the year to provide a boost on special teams.

LB Dannell Ellerbe - Another veteran insurance policy added in the latter half of the season, Ellerbe played key roles in the home-field-clinching win over Oakland and the Divisional Round victory over Atlanta.

LB Najee Goode - Provided quality depth on defense and special teams in his five seasons with the team. Finished tied for second with 10 special teams tackles in 2017. Started three games at linebacker.

S Corey Graham - Signed in Training Camp, Graham was a veteran presence as the third safety behind Malcolm Jenkins and Rodney McLeod. Tied for second with 10 special teams tackles. Broke up Eli Manning's fourth-down pass in end zone to seal the win at Giants. Intercepted Case Keenum in the NFC Championship Game.

RB Darren Sproles - Deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Leads all active players and ranks eighth in NFL history in all-purpose yards. Earned Pro Bowl honors three times, all with the Eagles. A role model for the players in the locker room. Dynamic returner and running back on the field. One of the toughest Eagles, period.

K Caleb Sturgis - Set the franchise record for most field goals in a season with 35 in 2016. At one point, he connected on 18 straight attempts that year. Suffered a hip injury that sidelined him for almost all of 2017.

S Jaylen Watkins - The only restricted free agent of the group, Watkins is a former fourth-round pick of the Eagles who had his best campaign in 2016 when he set career highs in tackles (51), passes defensed (6), and special teams tackles (4).

would be nice to get graham and Sproles back, but nothing there we can't do without
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

Tend to agree here. Just don't like the LB's being so thin, I know the D line looks to be real strong but having some quality LB's sure wouldn't hurt.

Most of these guys probably won't garner any attention on the market so they may be available to sign later. But they also were, to some degree, guys who were available during the year because they couldn't sign on with someone last year or may have been coming off TC injury or something. The same types will be available after TC cuts.
If Sproles is back Barner and Blount are replaced. If Peters is back Beatty is replaced. Elliot took Sturgis' place. So it really won't be many losses. I'd love to have kept Burton but he will be a starting TE in this league so that made it next to impossible. Beau Allen is a nice player but he is a rotation guy. Robinson-- again nice player but Jones is back full time. About my only concern is another safety and some competition at LB. Now that Bradham is back I am more comfortable at LB. Tough to find high quality draft picks when you are going 32 and then don't pick again for a long time but this is where Douglas supposed shines so let's hope he finds a couple of gems.
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy
        Hope is not a strategy
        RIP

Are the linebackers really thin? We resigned Bradham, still have Hicks and Kendricks, brought in Nelson. Still have Gerry, Kamu etc.

Three starters, three good special teams guys who can spot play. I think its stronger than you think especially since we are in 2 linebackers sets like 60% of the time.
Were from Philly F in Philly no one likes us we DON'T CARE!

We should be good there. I like Kamu and Gerry should have a bigger role this season. As ND pointed out nobody is going to rush in and grab Ellerbe or Goode anyway. I just hope that somebody beats out useless Walker.

Hmm, then why did we go out and get Ellerbe, and we have very little to go in on Nelson. Gerry and Kamu didn't push anybody or we would not had a need for Ellerbe or Nelson. Just saying that is a lot of talent leaving. Seems to me we might just be a bit thin there.

Because Hicks got hurt. Schwartz rarely uses 3 linebackers. His base defense is pretty much the nickel. Ellerbee was activated for the SB and had 3 snaps. Goode got 5.

This is the new NFL. Not many teams play smash mouth offense anymore where you need a base 4-3 on first and second down.

We were in it on first down too. It's our new base. Jenkins was lined up as a 3rd linebacker.

                      What linebacker has left?

I didn’t even mention Walker, remember we lost both Walker and Hicks, Ellerbe really was our third middle backer in the base defense. Most teams are not that deep at MLB, they would need to pick up a linebacker the same way the Eagles did

Gerry was a rookie changing positions I didn’t expect much more than special teams. However roll tape of his play against the Girls first team on the last game and I think he can play a little.

Kamu is a special teams player again most teams do carry linebackers who are teams players.

I don’t think they are done at linebacker. Would not surprise me if Kendrick’s is traded and we draft a guy at some that can backup Hicks.

All I'm trying to say is that if we were ok with those guys when Hicks went down, we would not have needed an Ellerbe. Look all I am saying is that with the LB's I have a "concern" that we may be thin-- talent wise not body wise. We may need an extra "starter" type, cause we all know Hicks is going down again.

Didn't Walker also get hurt and that is why we added Ellerbe? I can't remember which happened first.

Doesn't matter(but Hicks was first i think) my point being that they did not promote Gerry or Kamu-- they went out and got somebody else. Again i just have a small concern at LB, at least Kendricks we know, we don't know Nelson, Gerry or Kamu.

I think every team has two or three special teams LBs like Kamu, Gerry, and Goode. We've always had those guys that are great special teams players (Ike Reese). Those guys don't have the size or experience to play inside and that is why we needed to get Ellerbe. Bradham filled in a lot for Hicks inside but if he went down we needed Ellerbe to fill that role. Walker did it for a while but then he got hurt too.

I guess I'm saying that it's hard to find guys that can do it all, especially your backup players. You can't have 2 or 3 backup middle linebackers because those guys usually aren't cut out for playing special teams.
