  • 2005 Top 10 Releases

Steve, betty, myself and others had started this discussion on Philaphans and I thought it would be good to crank it back up here....

    My List:

    1. Sufjan Stevens: Come on Feel the Illinoise
    2. My Morning Jacket: Z
    3. Super Furry Animals: Love Kraft
    4. Deerhoof: The Runners Four
    5. Nickel Creek: Why Should the Fire Die?
    6. Trey Anastasio: Shine
    7. Brothers Past: This Feeling's Called Goodbye
    8. Jeff Coffin Mutet: Bloom
    9. Bloc Party: Silent Alarm
    10. Dave Douglas: Keystone & Mountain Passages

Paul Weller, Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Ros, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Joshua Redman and others just missed the list...

Generally, I have a really wide range of musical likes...2 Jazz releases made this list, but I could make a whole other Jazz list for 2005 too...and probably one for dance/funk...lol...I also know I have alot to learn about music and there are always bands I never knew about that blow me away...

Steve...I brought your post from the other thread over here to save you the time...

Just to give a little more perspective to my music interests - we had started this dialogue on PP and thought I'd post here.

My top albums from last year (ranked in this order):

    1) My Morning Jacket's "Z"
    2) Death Cab for Cutie - "Plans"
    3) Sufjan Stevens "Come on Feel the Illinoise"
    4) Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Self Titled
    5) Coldplay "X&Y" (I know some will cringe when seeing this - can't help it).
Eliminate distractions, create energy, fear nothing, and attack everything.

Beck's "Guero" should be on this list. If I'm at a loss for something to listen to, that always works out.
I have never done steroids. Period. Well, not today, anyway.
