I agree that ST is hurting him, but he is better than Square in the pass rush, but likely not against the run. I believe we will see him and Square switching off based on run/pass expectations.
BTW, Square made a great move between two blockers on a run...that ended up being a safety. He and Barwin were right there to make a backfield tackle if there wasn't a fumble. If there was a cutback, Cole was holding his gap and ready to also make the stop. The safety was credited to the Skins' mistake, but that play was going nowhere anyway due to great penetration. I think Curry can make this penetration too.
I think Curry doesn't get activated until he proves he can do it on special teams. It's a huge part of Skip's thinking. He picked his roster to accommodate good SS players. There are quite a few players on the roster that wouldn't be here if he didn't have that philosophy. After that SS performance Monday night, it's tough to argue with him.
Curry was a monster in the preseason. He is not a blown pick as he could be great as a 4-3 end. He will get a chance soon and show what he can do
Being a monster in preseason means what exactly??
Not much.
He's obviously down the depth chart despite his preseason pro bowl form. Kelly has shown that he will put a premium on special teams, and like I said, my gut feeling is that if no one gets hurt, Curry isn't going to see the field much. Maybe that changes if someone ahead of him stumbles, but right now, it still looks like another blown pick on defense. Or, we'll just say another draft pick with minimal impact.
At this point, unless someone gets hurt, I don't see much future for Curry here. Another blown draft pick on defense.
Curry has legitimate talent. It's not like he's a bust. But he's been miss used or under utilized since he was drafted. It started with Washburn and his f'in Wide 9, staring Washburn's love child, The Tattooed Man.

And it continues.
Sometimes it hurts being a Birds' fan.
I'd stop short of calling him a bust. But, it's another draft pick that they basically have gotten zero production out of.
