"Philly fans are great....It's the only place where you pull up on the bus and you've got the grandfather, the grandmother, the kids and the grandkids - everybody flicking you off. At other stadiums, they give you the thumbs-down. Here, they give you the middle finger.”

On that note, I havent tried the "listen to the radio while watching" thing in a while because there was always a delay. Is that still the case?

I know that Comcast Digital and WYSP do not sync up. Comcast standard cable probably does because my daughter, watching last night's game in her room, started cheering Lito's INT about 5 seconds before I saw it...
          (i'm thinking here...)

I am sooooo qualified to answer this question.

I run the board for lots of radio broadcasts of sporting events. There is pretty much always a delay of some sort if you're dealing with cable versus a broadcast signal. In my experience, ESPN broadcasts run about 6-7 seconds behind the radio, and broadcast networks like ABC (but on cable) run 2-3 seconds behind. This is on regular analog Comcast cable. (I don't know if ESPN runs their own delay or what accounts for that difference.) I actually tweak our delay unit to sync up with the tv broadcast so people can listen to us while they watch. (Okay, fine, it's so I can watch. You know how aggravating it is to know if a pass is complete or incomplete while the qb is still in his throwing motion?) This only works, though, if they're watching on the same cable system as me. People watching on digital cable, satellite, or even from other cable hubs will get the signal at varying delays. Satellite is probably the worst.

Man i hate that, don't you?? We have a small TV in our kitchen and if my wife is in there doing something she'll put the game on and she'll react to stuff a few seconds before i see it!
