  • 2007 NBA Draft - Kevin Durant/Greg Oden Sweepstakes: Updated

The IGGY injury is a great thing but damn if that 7 game win streak wasn't terrible for us.

We're still in this thing. Need to break out of the pack and get to that #3 pick at the very least. Memphis and Boston are going to be 1/2 but we can get the lottery pick if we can get to #3 or even #4.

Hey BP, thanks for posting this. I think it would be best for the Sixers to get as high a draft pick as possible. Yes, it is great to see them win some games, but if the ultimate goal is to win a championship, this "little engine that could" will need a beefier engine.

Part of me thinks that the current team is playing well because they know that those 3 first round picks will have to replace someone. Another part thinks that they are starting to play "the right way." Probably the best news is that it seems that they have hit rock bottom and are on their way back up.

(BTW, I am eaglectic from the old boards.)

A couple of losses and we're close.

If we were at #3 and the other team was willing - would you package #3 and #19 to move up even one spot or to the top spot? I think I would for either of the two.

Is that before or after the lottery results? If it is before, I would take our chances at #3. The odds are still not too bad there (although the #2 position worked for the Sixers in 1996).

Here are the winners from the past 12 years:

            Year: Position
            2006: #5
            2005: #6
            2004: #1
            2003: #1
            2002: #5
            2001: #3
            2000: #7
            1999: #3
            1998: #3
            1997: #3
            1996: #2 (Sixers)
            1995: #5

RipRap - I'd suggest the trade AFTER the ping pong balls.

Reminds me of the debate on the PP Phillies board about wins/losses, Ed Wade and the future of the team. Losing as the path to greatness!

Steve, if that were the case, then I would move up, of course, if Oden and Durant were in the draft. I just don't think it is possible that any lottery team in its right mind would trade down.
