  • LOL! How big is Perry?

In one article on PE.com Spads writes:

Are they big enough to carry the load? The Eagles sure think so, and they also believe that a 200-pound Bruce Perry can add to the cause.

And in a seperate article he claims:

Perry is in the neighborhood of 215 pounds.

    THAT"S QUITE A DIFFERENCE THERE!

Something of interest, and it may be nothing, is that in an article where he addresses the question:What back do you use to pick up that critical 3rd and 1? There is no mention of Tapeh. An omission, or is Tapeh not looking too hot?

Tapeh is not a HB. He won't carry the ball much.

Maybe, but I was hoping he'd be our short yardage back when we needed to pound it. FB's DO carry the ball sometimes, ya know???

the one exception with Tapeh was that he is sort of a hybrid FB. He did both in college and he had more carries (12) in 7 games of '04 than Jon Ritchie & Josh Parry had in their entire combined careers as an Eagle. I think Tapeh, IF healthy, could be that short yardage back.

That's what I'm sayin' Stevie. Which is why I thought it was strange, ii a piece like that, not to bring his name up as a guy to use in that situation.

FRESH - I don't think Spadaro wants to count on Tapeh or put undo pressure on a guy who depending on his camp performance could either start or be cut.

Exactly. And that little confidence speaks to where Tapeh stands right now.

Wow, I think some are reading way toooooo much into "between the lines" -- 2 months before the season starts.

I agree with Steve, I think Tapeh or Bucky(health permitting in both cases) will be that 3rd and 1 guy -- on the 3rd and 1's that AR isn't passing.

I think right now, after a couple of shorts and tee shirt minicamps ---- nobody knows much -- at least not enough to be jumping to conclusions -- including Spads.

The 3rd and 1 guy will be Donovan like he's always been. Either on the sneak, or run/pass option rollout, or straight up pass-play throwing the ball.

I mean, you guys HAVE watched the Andy Reid Eagles before, haven't you?

Geez, I totally forgot about Bucky. That's a strange omission as well.

And yes MD, of COURSE I'm speculating right now. What else is there to do at this time of the off-season?
