I'm not buying that future picks are discounted significantly if at all. Especially if you're in a position that the Eagles are in where having more young players closer to the years that Wentz will need to be compensated by a gazillion dollars. Unless a GM thinks he's getting fired if his team doesn't perform very soon, I can't fathom a good reason why a 2nd round pick this weekend has a much different value than one next year. Bottom line is that over the span of an owner's life, or GM's career, a 2018 pick or a 2019 pick has exactly the same REAL value.
