  • Baskett vs. McMullen

    Interesting...

After a nice game today (3 catches for 64 yards & 2 TDs - one of which was a recovery of someone else's fumble in the end-zone)...

    McMullen: 7 catches, 97 yards, 2 TDs
    Baskett: 7 catches, 169 yards, 1 TD

Baskett has been on the field a lot more than McMullen.

I'm not saying it means anything since neither player has really done much, but it just goes to show: (as I said many many times while it was happening) never to get too excited by anything that happens in the preseason. There was a point that many were acting like Baskett was going to the pro-bowl, and that McMullen would be escorted out of the NFL soon.

So, before today McMullen had 4 catches for 33 yards and 0 TD?

    Good timing on your thread....

Baskett has done more here in 8+ weeks than McMullen did in 3 years...I have no worries that trade was a good one. Even if it turns out not to be, the guy is our 4-5th WR and hardly a major component...

I agree with both of you.

Baskett sure has shown more than Billy has shown so far.

However, both so far look like 4th and 5th string receivers...

McMullen's TD catch today was a joke. Green Bay just left him completely wide open, no defender was within ten yards of him when he made the catch.

McMullen spent years in Philly stealing money and producing nothing. Anything Baskett produces that is more than ZERO is a bonus, because McMullen was going to be released. McMullen is horrible. At least Baskett could improve.

I'd delete this post before too many people read it. McMullen is a 4 year vet who is garbage, while Baskett is a rookie that came out of camp injured.
