  • OT: Lebron's choice

Prince James chooses Miami along with Wade and Bosh

    I hope they fail miserably

I do too. Who is going to play there and make $12/hr while they have 3 huge contracts trying to hog the spotlight?

I care nothing about the NBA but that said 3 guys of that talent usually don't equal a championship. You have to have chemistry. See the New York Yankees for the best example of that.

The shocking thing for me is what the Cavs owner said. What an ASS. Does he really think his players are going to respect him after he said those kind of things about LeBron.

Again, I really dislike the NBA. NEVER watch it and could care less but the personal attack just shocked me. And I don't think the Heat will win a title with those guys all together. How many balls are they going to have.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

The thing that makes this work is that both Lebron and Wade love to distribute the ball.

and no, I did not change font or size..

            Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

            Just watch.

            Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

            Dan Gilbert

I don't think the Cavs owner is an ass at all. For years LeBron preached loyalty(even has a tattoo of it)and he turns his back on his hometown team. Not only that he goes on nationwide TV and kicks them in the nuts while he's at it. The city of Cleveland didn't turn their backs on him when he quit on them in the playoffs.

If he really wanted to leave fine just go about your business and do it the right way. He didn't need the circus type atmosphere.

If they really want some glue for this foundation they are building in Miami, might I suggest AI,he's cheap and he too is looking for the prize before retiring.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

But he's been in the league so long that his vet minimum has got to be outrageous.

They're gonna be playing with 3 superstars and Dionte Christmas like players.

If you really want to look back, and believe in conspiracys, this was done for awhile. I think the loss to Orlando two seasons ago, was the writing on the wall.

I think the big3 can play together and will play together quite well. I think they enjoyed the olympics and I wouldnt be suprised if they win it all. I mean they have an all-star at three positions, what team can compete with that. The Celtics won it all their first year and came within 5mins of winning it again, I think the Lakers should be concerned, they can not matchup.

Its not like putting Kobe and Jordan on the same team; you have three legit friends playing ball. I think all of them were "the man" b/c their teams required them to be, but i;m sure Bosh will enjoy getting his 18/7 and Lebron will enjoy averaging a triple double.

I dont know Lebron, but I dont know if he ever really thought of Cleveland the same way Cleveland thought of him. He is a Bulls/Yankees/Cowboys fan. He really had no allegiance to Cavs other than being born there and being picked first. Now that doesnt excuse his actions over the past two weeks, I have no problem with him leaving, as I dont think others do, its just the way he did it.

                            Tremendous excerpt from Yahoo Sports:

So now people are cheering Dan Gilbert’s manifesto tearing apart James, but no one contributed more to what the world witnessed on Thursday night than the owner’s enabling of James and his inner circle for seven years. Gilbert is the biggest con going, a man who makes his fortune peddling mortgages, and he’ll make his next on casinos in downtown Cleveland. He sells illusions for a living, and now he’s selling the biggest of all: that he’s a victim here, that James betrayed everyone. That’s a lie, and no one ought to dare buy it.

Everyone searching for a scapegoat here – Mike Brown, Danny Ferry, Delonte West(notes) – well, just understand that it was the man screaming loudest with LeBron out the door, the man most determined to deflect blame onto him now.

Now, Gilbert is the tough guy with James leaving the Cavs behind? Listen, Ferry and Brown always warned Gilbert that giving James everything he wanted – giving it when and where and how – wouldn’t be the way they would keep him. LeBron didn’t respect them because they never demanded it.

Gilbert always believed he should do everything James wanted – hire his buddies into jobs, throw them on summer-league rosters, allow him to do those stupid pregame choreographed dances – that James would love him, that he would never leave. Only, James is a taker, and he took and took until he had bled Gilbert and that franchise to the bone.

So now, Gilbert unleashes the most revisionist and self-serving screed that a scorned owner’s ever done. Gilbert is a bully and a baby. As much as James, Gilbert revealed himself, too. He asked for this humiliation and deserves it. Only those fans in Cleveland don’t deserve this. They were loyal, true, and ultimately they must know Gilbert lashed out to make James the villain for a most self-serving reason: to avoid the blame himself. Damn right James quit on the Cavaliers in that playoff series, but that was because Gilbert was always there to make it easy for him. All those times Ferry and Brown warned the owner they had to make stands with James, that they had to force him to have some level of respect within that organization or there would be an ultimate price to pay.

you know,I don't watch enough B-ball to actually give a shit. With what those 3 are making, the 4-12 guys on the roster are not going to be so super. If 1 of the big 3 goes down for any length of time,(I Hope so) best of luck.
