  • Up 19-0, Pederson seems to decide that....

passing is much more fun than running.

Stipulating that I couldn't get the game and had to follow it on the CBS Sportsline Game Tracker, I couldn't believe the game Numb Nuts was calling.

Maybe you guys that were able to actually see the game could enlighten me. Did Pederson's apparent overemphasis on the passing game after the Birds got up 19-0 make angry sense to you. I gather that there were a lot of drops...something our receivers specialize in. But it's funny how few passes are dropped on running plays.

(should have been "any" not "angry" sense. Although, DP's play calling did make me plenty angry)

If i remember right Howard finally got stuffed for a 2 yard loss and Doug said fuck this running shit.

My feed went to crap in the second half. I followed along play by play online. The way we ran the ball, why throw it? Especially playing an offense as inept as the Bears. These guys can’t catch a cold. And why did Sproles get any touches at RB? Sanders and Scott should be getting those touches that Howard doesn’t. Sproles should not see a carry. I know it was only one or two. It’s still too many and may start to inch upwards as he stays healthy.

The biggest error of the game was giving Sproles that series. That said... on third and short on that series Carson three a catchable ball to Sproles and he didn’t quite corral it. If he catches that there he was gonna get 15 yards and they would have been inside the 40 and they’d have scored again.

Sproles and Peters are shot though. Never should have been brought back.
You know Darren if you'd have told me 10 years ago that someday I was going to solve the world's energy problems I'd have said your crazy.... now lets drop this big ball of oil out the window.

I agree, the Sproles series was a disaster. IMO he isn't worthy right now of a game day roster spot. Carson is playing low risk football. He isn't fumbling, he isn't trying to make crazy plays. Coupled with an effective running game, it works---- Until you try to get pass happy with the beat up WRs. Alshon was clearly hurting yesterday, DJAX played one series maybe and the rest of the WR depth is mediocre. Doug, just run the f'n ball.

Oh and shout out to Dillard for a good game.

IMO Sproles is our punt return specialist period. He's a nice security blanket if we lose Howard or Sanders but that's it.

I was losing my mind. We were ahead, and dominating on D 19-0... but the play calling was like we were down 19-0. That game felt like a loss to me. Way too frustrating as a fan.
