  • Disagree 60. The birds certainly have the ability to kick Seatle's ass. They didn't do it last night but they have the ability--- Seattle isn't 12-0; they are beatable.
Wentz came out tight. He missed at least four wide open receivers. The coach came out tight. Didn't have the best game plan although it wasn't terrible. He did make a bad challenge on a play where it was 50-50 for the spot and they only had 6 inches to gain. He then didn't challenge a pretty obvious forward pass. The team couldn't get off the penalty tree. There were at least two real nice returns called back for penalties and the O and D was getting flagged too much.
Wilson is brutal to get if he breaks the pocket. Just too hard to get. And they have a couple of playmakers, but the birds do too. What worried me more than the offense not getting in gear was the D not being able to get to Wilson and DBs not being able to keep up with receivers for an extended period (although you have to wonder if there wasn't just as much pushing off by the receivers as there was dbacks holding the receivers).
Wait until next year is a terrible philosophy

    • all the pregame dancing, all the crazy celebrations and having the amount of media Philly does might have made some swelled heads. Hopefully a week away from our media gang and the loss will get them back to ground zero. Wentz and a few others looked out of sorts due to the crowd noise at times. Wilson needs to be knee capped or someone in a pileup needs to inflict injury to the wheels. He is the only reason they won that game. Tom Brady or any other statue QB would be on his back in a morgue with the heat the line brought last night.
We're looking for people that are fundamentally different,” vice president of player personnel Andy Weidl said Saturday night. “The love and passion for football, it's non-negotiable. They're caring, their character, they do the right thing persistently, and they have a relentless playing style that you can see on tape. The motor, it burns hot. You see them finishing plays. They have a team-first mentality. They're selfless individuals.

I'm not sure rushing full speed at Wilson is the way to go. He's faster and can get away from anyone on the field. If we play them next time we need to change things up. Play more coverage (rush 3 sometimes) and maybe have a delayed blitz once he rolls out of the pocket. Make him beat you from "the pocket" as a passer and not as a passing running back.

          • ND, I'm not saying that we can't beat Seattle. I'm just saying that hitting some teams at the right times and beating some sucky teams can swell your head some. Everybody in the world has said that we are the best team since the 85 Bears and it's just not true. There are about 6 teams that can win this thing and we're one of them. When you play a team like the Seahawks on a Sunday night you had better bring your A game and we didn't. It's not the end of the world, at least not the season.

spurr, we're not the only team that has trouble figuring out how to play Wilson. He's been unreal all season. I thought a big mistake was showing that all out blitz for about 10 seconds letting Russell read the thing for the easy TD. Wentz had the same chance on the flip to Barner and for some strange reason didn't recognize it or switch out of the play. We didn't play well and got beat although Wentz also threw 2 passes down the stretch that nobody in history could have made. 10-2 and moving on.

            • Let's put this horse down, give it the shot to the head it deserves, don't let it suffer.

              Is it Sunday yet?
